LL owners

hi All I am considering grouping recips by those who list you forever and those that drop your link off after a certian amount of time. What do you think about this?

see it like this, i have 3+ years old free sites, still getting traffic from rr and others from that but i also have linksites o them who already dropped me after a year or what ever, so yep i agree use on a page alll the inksites who will list your forever:), hya Fred and keep submitting :D

I don't agree -
Traffic from Tommy, GG, Jays etc is time sensitive, however, I consider the amount of traffic sent.
If GG removes a link of mine after 6 months and I've made 3-10 sales from it, what harm is there in leaving the recip up so GG gains PR??
I have 5+ year old sites with GG recips on them that I don't gain anything from, but GG, does. And with the added back links he gets more traffic to send my way.

After about 150 free sites, you won't want to keep track of them and go back and edit them.
Build them, submit them, forget them. (well if you build hubs and stuff)
Let the SE's do their work.

I have no intentions of changing any of my link codes or recip groupings because of this.

When you get over 10K of sites listed, it really starts to look ugly from a surfers and LL point of view. Design wise, programming wise, policing wise. That's why there are 6 month limits.

now there is the trick alot say make free sites submit them and dont look back, but i say submit them and yes do look back specially with sites like gg or others i dont mean it bad, but why leaving sites there which dont get traffic from linksites anymore? you know gg say update your free site ones a six months and you will be listed, well you wont be there if you dont look back, and yep i still agree, i would also put the linksites on one page who list your forever, i did with my last free sites, i dont submit to 100s anymore, i pick out the linksites who will list me forever, so ones in the six months i look back and update because i want greenguys traffic and i am an hapy camper and dont have to look back anymore at the linksites who dropped me.Tommy is an different part, tommy sends alot of traffic and yep i still have him on my old sites although i know i have been dropped after what ...3 months or so, but then talking about tommy you talk about an person who sends the most traffic from all linksites i know. and this is just my point of view:D

now seeing it as an linksite owners point a view, ( hey i am bisexual on this one, i have had several linksites and i submit free sites) then i would agree with daretwo, i did the same with my linksites i dropped sites older then a year but also mentioned in my rules page people could resubmit, now i cound on that "people forget your free site" on my linksites why because i drop their sites and they still have my linkback there:D very handy....a and i bet some wanna kill me right now....

I personally don't care if my sites from Jays and a couple other high traffic LL are dropped after 6 months. GG will keep you listed if you play by his reasonable rule on that, and honestly Jay and Tommy send more traffic in 6 months than most could send in 4 years. I'm happy to leave the recips up, since all those one way links are one of the reasons they have so much SE traffic to spread around in the first place. In the grand scheme of things, if you're a regular submitter those recips still being up HELP your fresh listings. Just my opinion.

I'm to busy to make special recip tables based on how long my sites stay listed, much less go back X months later to change things. I group my recips based on the traffic I receive, then I build, submit & forget.

I am trying to list forever - but I can understand those who can't do that because of receiving too many submissions.

If you've done things even remotely well, by the time you get "dropped" from any decent link list, you should have a search engine listing or two. IMO it's a waste of time to revisit an old free site. You've probably improved your technique since then, so why bother?

Recips mean so very little to your free site. You might "lose" two visitors in a hundred, max. It's really not worth worrying about.

Thank you for all the replys. First let me say I am not taking recips down from old sites and have no intention of going back to old sites and removing recips my thinking on this is some of the old sites can be resubmitted and then I only have to resubmit from one page.

i dont either take receips down only from the linksites who dont excist anymore after some time( and there are enough after sometime, then me talking about the time i still submitted to 80+ linksites), i look back, redisign the site and resubmit :D
