MPGs won't play
Is it just me or is there something wrong with these MPGs? I get an error message when I try to play them.

It uses mpeg1/2 as the video codec, but an audio codec that isn't very well supported in Windows Media Player.
Selected audio codec: [mad] afm:libmad (libMAD MPEG layer 1-2-3) |
It looks like UW has QuickTime installed and that is why he and I can both play these movies.
If Windows people have QuickTime installed, many do now because it is part of iTunes, which player does the browser use for playback of mpegs? Do they have a choice? What are the defaults? I personally really would love to use mpeg-4(.mp4) instead of the mpeg-1(.mpg) vids at the paysite that I manage. |
it defaults to whateve the user has set.. (usually the last player installed)
realone plays mpeg1/2 files like quicktime does... been thinking of embedding mpegs and trying to force quicktime as the player, and make people download quicktime if they have to, for a mainstream application that requires use of mpeg2 files. Anyone know if making file extentions something like .mpg2 will help make the correct player be chosen? |
Realone is the same thing as RealPlayer isn't it?
RealPlayer only plays RealPlayer media on a Mac, didn't know it did mpegs on the PC side of things. Guess I should stop telling Angel's PC members that they can't use RealPlayer. lol |
Thanks people! Didn't want to decline the guy if it was just my player that was screwed up.
