im open for critiquing, or however u spell it
 

i just learned to build galleries a few weeks ago and im still learning. my tables have been picky and unforgiving but i think im getting the hang of them now.

im looking for some criticism and suggestions.

- is the picture quality good enough ? too small, too blurry, anything ?

- thumb quality sucks i know, i have to register my program to get rid of the damn date watermark on the tops. ile replace them all when i do.

- i dont like in your face advertising, i try to keep it subtle but prominent, too subtle would u say ?

- anybody running 800 x 600 can u tell me if the tables fit on screen without scrolling ?

- and anything else you notice thats bad let me know. sock it too me ile promise not to take too much offense :)

ahh, and my server seems to load the galleries slow, i may have to upgrade when i manage to get a first sale or two. can u guys recomend a good server? 100-500gigs month.

For my money Mystery meat navigation isnt usually the way to go, it doesnt help with search engines, nor let a user know what they may be getting into...but I'll leave the other critiques to the experts here.

You have way too many thumbs on your gallery. A gallery usually has about 15 larger-sized thumbnails that lead to the higher-quality pics.

Also, your advertising is meek and mild. The first gallery at the top only has a boring banner ad and a non-enticing text link at the bottom.

Try to bring a more attractive and attentive advertising creative to the surfer's eyes. Use enticing and sexy text to lure them in.

You have obviously made a lot of improvement, when comparing your newest galleries to your first one. As Joe said, you're using too many thumbs. 14-16 is damn near a universal quantity. Spread your recip links out a bit. Create a 750px wide table with three cells set at 33% each and put recip centered in each.

You have a nice way of laying out your thumbs, but you really should trim the overall page width down just to be safe for all browsers.

Definately use stronger advertising. No one is going to notice those little text links. Also, don't put the word 'sponsor' next to your banners. That's just silly.

hah, thanks Useless, i forgot i had the 'sponser' part in that one gallery. i think i used it as a spacer hehe.

as for the rest ile start designing pages with less thumbs and ile find some html help with how to percentage the cells, i didnt know u could do it by percent.

yea i really got a ways to go. im graphically challenged, just learning phtoshop now so i can do some nice table borders. my sense for color sucks though, thats one thing ile never excel at.

Useless Warrior, I designed a new page to include in a 3 page 'links' site. I made the tables a little narrower, i think its at 780 for the border and the inside is 750ish with one 770 width picture, a vid cap series. I tried beefing up my advertising with a gif button and larger text this time around.
