What Am I Doing Wrong?
 

Hi All my first post so please be gentle with me |bow|

From my site I sell worn panties www.saucypanties.com I have spent countless hours working on the link popularity and keywords for Google. For several months the site has returned top position on Google for any combination of searches containing the phrase "worn panties" or "used panties" even adding "for sale" to either of the phrases.

The last Google update was even kinder to me, now searching the single word "panties" on Google gives my site a top 3 listing and visits have increased to over 2000 unique a day, all targetted no misleading visits.

So why am I not making big $??? Sales have not increased but then there is not big money to make at selling worn panties, are my affiliates poor? I am trying not to over do the affiliate thing as there bannes and codes slow the site down to snail pace.

Any advice appreciated..

I just took a quick look and ended up at Susan's page and I couldn't find where I could order her panties at first. After some searching I found a tiny tiny "Purchase" out to the left. If it were me, I wouldn't make it so hard to find.
If I have something to sell, I make it easy to order. No need to overdo it with huge flashing things. But I would add something in the middle that is very noticable.

Another thing might be that everything is in GBP on your order page. If you get a lot of US surfers they might get confused how much £56 really is in $.

I like your site though, it's nice and clean. But I would add a little more selling to it :)

By my opinion traffic looking for "panties" is not as much targeted as traffic looking for "worn panties" or "used panties". That is the problem why increase in traffic is not equal to increase in revenue. Maybe to get another revenue you can add some ads of sponsors that offers content of girls in panties, upskirts or something similar...

yeah, also heard about that - don't know if it's completely forbidden to sell... but sending them by postal service is for sure forbidden |coolman

Maybe there just isn't that big of a market for used panties.

Personally I can't seem to sell much of anything that involves an actually physical product. Seems my surfers don't want anything that involves giving out their address or personal info other then buying a web membership.

Seems to be a lot of traffic leaks too for surfers to go other than buying panties.

It can be deemed as "obscene" materials to send used/worn panties thru the postal service. I guess taxpayers don't want to pay for it lol :D
sending thru fedex or similar seems to be ok.
I'm in Canada & wouldn't send any thru the mail over the border, but might w/in the country.

Good job! You are #1 for Used Panties and #2 for Worn Panties at Google. Think about how many hits a day do you get for these key phrases?

I just clicked on Donna and took a look around. Mayeb I'm not totally into worn panties but I didn't see a lot of enticing sales text or images. I think it could be far more enticing.

There have been a few fines for sending used panties through the US Mail. What wasn't clear to me is, using a different entity for shipping (UPS, Fed Ex, Canada Post) and what state laws could be enforced.

You're in the UK so you're not using the US Mail.

Wow just switched last week to a Yahoo server as I needed more php capabilities and it looks like they have closed my account without saying a word?? My site has disapeared and I cannot access anything

Site is back up and running, it was a credit card issue. They have said that they are okay with the content so far as long as it does not get any more explicit than it is including banners...

I registered The dirty panty network as it thought it would be interesting to list a load of cam and phone sex sites where the girls were prepared to sell their panties. It didn't meet with much enthusiasm, so I didn't bother. You're welcome to have some links on there if you've got some promo pics I can use for you.

All I know is that you're supposed to wear panties when trying on bathing suits and it's very hard to return undergarments that are worn and without the tags still attached.

They sell them in vending machines in Japan I think.

On that note, maybe your processor is using geo-ip scrubbing and that could cut your sales. I have noticed that panties and upskirts sites took a major hit when the CC processors brought in their foreign chargeback rules.

Yep - scrubbing will reduce the market for used panties (especially with adult content). :)

Japan is known for its rather "unique" fetishes.

It's Illegal to mail, because of the Potential Bio-hazard it poses... Basically, say some girl has some funky disease and traces of that is on her dirty panties and she mails it to a different part of the world, hence spreading that disease... That's what the govt. is trying to prevent... At least that's what we're told by 3 different lawyers, when we were researching doing a similar type site...

Now as for the site and why it's not selling... I would say two reasons...

The 1st as mentioned above the purchase links are very tough to find, especially for a "one handed" horny surfer...

Second, and the MAIN problem is that most guys looking for panties are looking for a souvenir of a particular girl, but there's not even a faceshot of Susan, Donna, or Tina... The site seems very impersonal. In fact, to be honest, the site looks like someone that bought 3 content sets, gave them names and are trying to scam someone into thinking these girls are real... Which I would think doesn't work well for selling used panties... Hope that didn't sound to harsh, but just what I see as the problem...:)
