Adult Webmaster Glossary

I've just deployed a small new resource site at www.fetishphiles.net to be a central place for my link trading as well as a place to put up some less common webmaster tools. The idea here is no BS and no fancy graphics, so please excuse the plain pages :)

Please take a moment to look over a couple of the pages and let me know what you think.

The Adult Webmaster Glossary the primary page I'd like feedback on, and is intended to be just that, a definition and brief explanation of a lot of the terms that are tossed around in the Biz so that newbie webmasters can feel a little less lost as they try to take it in. Eventually I'll be posting some tutorials on some of the subjects as well as adding to the glossary any time I feel there's something that needs to be added.

If there's anything else you'd like to see defined there please post in this thread, especially if you can provide a brief definition/explanation (i.e. a couple paragraphs or less). You'll get credit and a link to one of your webmaster pages in return.

Anyone out there with some time under their belt who would like to write a tutorial or mini-tutorial on any subject effecting or involving being an adult webmaster, your tutorial will get its own page with a link back to you however and wherever you like, as well as credit on the glossary page.

Also, since a few of the terms don't fall in my areas of expertise, if I've botched any of the definitions please let me know :) There are a few terms with no definitions yet, just because I haven't gotten to them yet :D

Thanks, and I look forward to your feedback.

I have to say thank you. I think I posted someplace before looking for something like this. So many acronums it was a pain to figure some of them out.. You list is now printed an tacked right next to the whiteboard. For me a new guy the site is great. Thanks.. Jugg

SSI = Directives that are included and processed in html pages that are evaluated by the Server prior to the page being served to the web surfer. SSI has a limited set of commands that it can use and is not as full featured as using CGI or PHP to generate the pages.

Updated, and thanks! LMK if you want a link. :)

Juggernaut: You're welcome :) Half the reason I did this was that I wish I'd had access to something like it when I was a newbie

Max!! that is a wonderful site and helpful guide for everyone not just newbies.

I don't know if this would be helpful but:

Indie Porn: Independently owned amateur websites that are fully maintained by and feature 1 (or 2) single provider (porn star). Not part of a "mega site".

Thanks again Max.. |headbang|

another myth started by invading europeans.. who actually started scalping in the French-Indian war. They were paid a bounty for every native scalp they brought back. As natives were forced to migrate westward they brought this to the plains so by the time there was a full-on takeover they had it down pretty good. Since newspapers and the telegraph was now able to report back, it was thought natives "invented" scalping.

*ducking from Tart*.. ok i'll shut up.. |cool|

I'm really glad you guys find that helpful :)

I worked on putting it together slowly over time, then decided the other day to just put it out there to see if it would get used before I continued work on it. :)
