The UK legal system is now complete bollocks.

In fact... everything is complete bollocks!

I never take a story the Sun prints as the total facts.

ecchi 2005-04-26 11:46 AM

RE :"wasn't really impressed until I clicked here ---> http://www.page3.com" Yeah, we get naked women in some of our newspapers. We also used to have a cable channel where the news was read by a naked woman. But then we also had the "Cello News Network" where a woman read the news while playing the Cello. And that was just so that they could get away with using the acronym for "Cello News Network" (CNN). But my favourite was the news bunny, which was a guy dressed in a bunny costume who sat behind the newscaster reacting to the story, eg - "In more serious news (bunny assumes a serious expression) A school bus full of children crashed on the M25 today (bunny looks concerned) but fortunately none of the kids were seriously hurt (bunny wipes his forehead in relief)".

So yeah, I echo what sarah_webinc said "I never take a story the Sun prints as the total facts." However I have heard this story from more reliable sources as well, so I think this one is accurate.

Another UK landmark media event was Live TV's midget weatherman who bounced on a trampoline while reading the forecast.
Oh - and topless darts.

ecchi 2005-04-26 12:39 PM

Ohh, I used to love the topless darts. I once went to an adult industries trade fair where you could join in with the women at games of topless darts, topless snooker, and topless table tennis. That was a fun day.

There is even a 3D video with a scene of me and a woman playing topless table tennis, although obviously for commercial reasons the camera focuses on the woman mostly.

I KNEW I should have become an ex-pat when I had the chance.

There are a mass of crap stories like this. The police seem more interested in trivia and traffic offences, than in preventing attacks like that on the young mother who is now paralysed after being knifed. She was close to her in-laws £2.5 million home.

Those kids will grow up thinking that they have a license to attack and rob in society.

ecchi 2005-04-29 09:51 AM

RE : "than in preventing attacks like that on the young mother who is now paralysed after being knifed." - Actually this one annoys me more. Because she was well off and was attacked in a rich area the police are moving heaven and earth to find the killer. If it happened in a poor area they wouldn't do a damn thing. I remember one of the incidents from when I ran a video shop in New Addinton (large council estate). A nine year kid got beaten up by a gang of teenagers in the shop. I got the whole thing on our security video, and I even got the name and address of the ringleader. When I 'phoned the police they said that they did not have the time to do anything about it. And that is just one story, I could make this the longest thread on the board just posting similar stories from those days.
