Have I been paying attention in class?
 

I've been following the threads on Link Lists and Free Sites with interest over the last few weeks.

I've spent the afternoon building a free site. http://www.bevyofbabes.com/LL/desirae1/index.htm I think I have the basic concept down. I'd appreciate it if the link list and free site veterans would take a look and let me know if I have any glaring problems or areas that need help.

Nice site. Be sure to throw a banner and text above the enter link to increase sales. Same as the main page.

One thing that I would do is to shrink the pics to 600 on the longest side instead of 800. That way you wouldn't need to compress the pics so hard to get them to a decent size. Right now the girl in gallery 1 has a tendency to get a mustache in some of the pics which is a sign of over compression :)

He can't do that can he? - he already has 3 links on the index and main page :(

Yeah three links max but IMO one of those 3 would be better used up there

I've made the suggested adjustments. I guess my next step is to fill in that recip table and make some submissions.

The majority of the sponsors I promote are similar content (amateur babes). Any suggestions for lists to submit to?

Not sure if you realize this, but the thumbs in gallery 1 dont point to the proper pictures, not even the proper set for that matter. Also, you only NEED 10 pics per gallery most places to get accepted.. might save you a bit on transfer.

You'd make life easier if you'd keep your title down to 4 words or less. I'd like the gallery pages more if they didn't look so much like FHGs. I know that they aren't, because Desirae's FHGs are much more plain in appearance. But you did layout the thumbs in the same way and size. For SE reasons, I'd suggest using more real text on your galleries instead of doing it all graphically. With free sites, ugly is often better. My wife followed that concept when marrying me.

b1ng0, thanks for the heads up. I've fixed the images in gallery1, I'd resized the wrong set of originals when making them 640 instead of 800.

UW, thanks for the tips on the gallery layout. I tend to use that same "three rows of 5" layout when I'm building TGP galleries, and these are just a slightly modified version of a TGP template I've used for Desirae. The text vs graphic for SE's makes sense too, especially since free site listings have a much longer shelf life than TGP links.

So much to learn, so little time. Thanks again everyone for helping this ol' dog learn a few new tricks. :D
