Is Indian considered Asian?
 

I keep getting Indian galleries submitted to my Asian TGP.

Is Indian not Asian, or am I wrong for rejecting them?

OK... I'll explain for those not in the UK or India :)

In the States Asian refers to Chinese, Thai etc.

In the UK and and to those in India Asian refers to them. In the UK most Indians call themselves Asian and this is where the mix up happens... We call Thai's etc, Oriental

So it is best to have an Indian niche/category for your TGP. I'd like to thank a couple of the major tgp/links guys who actually created this for me and my sites in the recent past :) I'm also the one who got Adult Check and Age Check as they were back in 2000/01 to create an Indian category as I was fed up with my sites going under Asian back then :)

U guys over the pond call Asian Indians "East Indians" to them that is an insult as East Indian is Bangladesh to them...

I have a few Indian friends and they don't really like being called Indian. Native Americans is preferred and does make more sense.

Then again my tranny friends don't really like being called trannies and one of them is a Native American so to be PC they would be a Native American T-Girl.

Fuck it's hard to remember all this…

How many of you have met an Asian Indian ? I got in to this business after spending 8 years with an Asian Indian girlfriend who came to the UK from Calcutta. I have only worked with Indian models since I entered the industry. If anyone reading this is in the UK, they can confirm I was even featured in a documentary this week on our tv channel 4 about Sahara and her not only being an Anglo Indian but also being a Muslim..

I also have never heard anyone in the US use the term "East Indian." I've heard a lot of folks in the UK use the term "Red Indian" to refer to native North Americans, and while I don't think it's intended as offensive, I don't think it would go over terribly well here.

"Middle East" refers to just that part of the Globe:

Egypt, Israel, Saudi Arabia etc. according to the rest of the world apart from America it seems, if you are the norm.

Your comment again proves that what I am trying to say about Americans and their knowledge of the world is correct and equals zero out of one hundred.

It is a known fact that less Americans have travelled outside of their own country compared to any other nationality in the world. You guys prove that they need to travel and learn more.

Brown skin, dark hair, often works at the local convenience store, looks different then the other dark skinned races down here. Woman often adorn their foreheads with a dot which results in the somewhat vulgar nickname Dot Heads.

Without asking someone of this description exactly what part of the world their ancestors are from people of this description are politely referred to as Middle Eastern decent in the part of the world where I live.

I live in a very mixed culture of many races where many languages are spoken and everyone is treated with respect and tolerance no matter what part of this big spinning rock they are from.

I live and have lived in central London, just a slightly cosmopolitan city, all my long life, and so I have mixed with every race, creed and colour that I've met here and I am far from a racist, specially as I only work with women of colour.. Though that could be construed as racist for not working with Caucasians, and has been by some. I'm a nice white Jewish guy and so the colour of a persons skin isn't important to me but the type of person they are, is very important. Also my choice of only photographing women of colour is business, not social, where I mix with everyone.

Why won't any of you comment on my point that Americans are the least travelled nation in the world ? Is it because you know I'm correct ? Most Americans are happy to live their life in Smallville middle USA their whole lives and see nothing more than what surrounds them.

Finally... Females with the spot on their forehead, which is called a bindi, are Hindu's, the guys who wear Turbans are Sikhs and the guy who blows up your local school in the name of Allah is a Muslim :)

No. People from India are Asians. There is a common misconception that in order to be asian, you must be oriental.
