Hosted Free Sites > Exit Links > ?
On our almost-ready Hosted Free Sites, we don't want to use a link that makes money for us instead of our affiliates, so we were going to use the standard "exit" link to google.com like most seem to use.
But I'm wondering if there's a better idea we're not thinking about. So I'm asking for any suggestions from list owners (or anyone else) on possible other ways to handle the exit link on the warning page of a HFS. TIA for any ideas, Simon |
You could send it to a money making link & offer the webmaster the option of putting their code for that mainstream site into the admin so that it carried over to the exit link.

I'm guessing that if the exit link had to be written to the page anyway, we should even be able to let the webmaster pick from a selection of mainstream programs, some of which they might already be signed up with--versus having to go sign up for the one we pick. Yeah, we may kick off with a 'google' exit link on the HFS, but I like this idea and we'll definitely look into how to do this one. Thanks! Simon |
....or leave it off all together..

I know next to nothing about hosted free sites, but I was thinking of making a few. I've always thought that offering an "exit" link was kinda pointless (why would you ask someone to leave your site?), but I didn't know if that was something that link lists want you to have.
Can anyone clear that up? |

I would think that just some warning text would be enough on HFS and get rid of the exit link, every page has an exit link.... it is that little X thingy on the top right of the page :D |

of course we all know what happens when we ASSume. so i was just throwing out what we've done in the past. |cool| however Greenie's idea is rocking ..once some spectacular programing person figures out how to do that.. |bow| |
