How do hosts such as tommy book mark and greenguy make $$$?

Question 1.
I understand that people who build galleries or freesite make money from sponsors, but how do people who host these freesites or TGP galleries make money?

Question 2.
Do webmasters or mistress manually go through new sites that are submitted?

question 1... maybe they could sell advertising on their sites ?

1- they don't host them they link to them, and they make money by promoting sponsors themselves... the galleries and free sites help them get search engine traffic and provide their surfers with content

2- yes

In regards to the title of this thread and the question, basically its been covered.

Advertising spots are sold on their sites, this earns them money.
They also promote paysites for their surfers (see above point)
They also usually have a few links in the webmasters section, promoting sponsors, which also generates revenue.

Its not difficult to spot how they make money, go to their linklists one day & study the layout of it if you're really interested... the answers are really all right there. :) Look at the page like a surfer might, you'll see soon enough. :)

On most linklists paysites are on top, and freesites below..... so many surfers "accidentaly" end up on the paysites hehe

I think they also make a nice chunk of money on making webmasterreferrals

They could promote their own paysites...like Tommy do

But those figures are if you are a massive TGP like thehun.net

..and seeing as I run a Link List & not a TGP, that doesn't really apply to me :D

I heard that they make their money by mugging old ladies on pension day. :D

How Link List Owners and TGP/MGP owners make money:

1. Sponsors (like us) have Hosted Free Sites for Link List owners and Hosted Galleries for TGP/MGP owners.

2. Sponsor Hosted Freesites or Galleries are not prone to cheating, therefore can be added in bulk.
