You are lucky you didn't get into beenies. My wife bought a billionaire bear several years ago for $10,000. That was not a typo. They only gave these out to the people that showed bears to retailers so there were only like 300 of them. Check ebay now...the highest I have seen it go for is $600.

She has at least, $50,000 worth of bears she paid for. They are probably worth $3000 now.

ok you're right, I'm very glad I didn't get into them That's one damn expensive bear!

My only hopes are that Ty goes out of business and the prices go up again. :)

A friend of mine in insurance replacement made a fortune for a couple of years by involving himself in those. He either secures a check for the customer, or arranges replacement merchandise for them. He decided to stock the hell out of beanies and made a lot of money for a while. Now he has a basement loaded to the rafters with 'em. What he has in inventory that he'll never move basically negated the profits he made. I feel bad for him whenever I go over there. |angry|
