MANUAL LABOR SUCKS

05/16/05 5:30p-9:15p Binxgook spends 4 hours ripping up carpet that was glued to a cement basement floor with a claw hammer.

10:30p back hurts,to late to buy beer and I've still got work to do!

i think i"ll stick to doing porn.

Now if I can just figure out how to get paid for it |dizzy|

I realized a long time ago that I am a lazy prick. I then rationalized having a guy come to mow my lawn by telling myself that I can make whatever I'm paying him by working online while he's out getting a sun burn in my back yard.

Since then, I do very little offline work :D

I get to drag a very large pile of used decking out to the curb side this weekend for bulk trash pickup.

I could pay someone to do this but I'm cheap and figure it is a good workout.

Everywhere has 24 hour places if you are creative and don't mind spending money.

You just call a limo company -- Do you keep the limos fully stocked? Ok, bring one over.

I am very frugal, especially when it comes to things that I can do, or think I can do, myself. I once moved my two-car garage across my yard and rotated it 90 degrees with a bunch of old fence posts, a Ford Explorer, and a tow rope. Yes, manual labor sucks.

I find that I end up doing things around the house that I don't believe contracted labor will do correctly. I usually end up a little over my head, but, usually I can figure it out.

Then I get ambitious and exceed Florida's code requirements and get in worse trouble. But, hey, it works, and looks rather good I think. And I doubt I could have contracted it out and gotten it done the way I wanted.

I used to do more manual labor around the house/yard, but as you get older (and fatter) you realize how it's so worth paying to have someone else do the work.

When we first moved into our new house, I knew I was going to have to dig a new turtle pen (I raise & rehab box turtles). The pen is 25 feet long and about 4 feet wide, and the whole thing needs to be at least a foot deep. I dug about 3 shovels worth of rocks and clay. Then I went down the street where they're still building new houses, got the guy to come over with the big shovel and he dug the pen for me in about 5 minutes. He dug up rocks bigger than me! I would have never been able to do it with just my little shovel. When he was done I happily slipped him a 50.
