eBay & PayPal spoof emails...
Will these things ever end?
I must get 3 or 4 a day asking or demanding I update my info or my account will be cancelled. I used to go through the trouble of reporting them to eBay or PayPal, but it seems to do no good. Now I started clicking on the links and filling in bullshit info just to screw with them. But that's starting to get boring. Anyone else get these emails? Bill |
I get them to. :(
At least we are on Macs so no dealing with spyware and viruses. |
I get a ton of them. The latest are the ebay "fraud mediation reports." HA! I haven't bought shit on ebay in about 6 months, so I'm pretty sure nobody is reporting me for fraud. Fuckers. I feel bad for those dumb enough to fall for those phishing emails though. Just not bad enough NOT to call them stupid.

The carpenter that worked for me when I was remolding my house got hit really bad by an eBay scam.
He was a very good carpenter but not all that knowledgable about computers but did a lot of trading on eBay. This is the type of people that these fucks target. I felt really bad for him. It was in the tens of thousands of dollars he got taken for. I'm not sure if he was able to recover any of it. |
those emails aren't real?
|
Wow! That's really horrible. They couldn't get that kind of money from me as I just don't have it - lol! I use ebay all the time, so I get the emails constantly, and I think ever since eBay and PayPal teamed up, I get allot more PayPal spoofs as well.

Only bad thing about them is that yesterday I almost trashed one that said your paypal acct has been charged for - and when I looked it was a TGP submit acct that had closed down last year yet they were still trying to get money out of their partners

Wow, so technically that wasn't a spoof email, it was for real! Damn that sucks!
PayPal is usually good with getting your money back from stuff like that. Bill |
