What is the general rule on movie clips as far as length of each clip and quantity of clips for free sites?

I don't know if there is a general rule, but many seem to require a total of two minutes.

Each movie must be 10 sec lenght minimum and total time must be at least 120 seconds.

I also guess that you should use MPEG or WMV..... dont use anything that requires extra codecs to be installed, like divx, xvid etc (most newbies dont know how to install them, so will be lost sales to you anyway)

Why is 120 secs the standard? Who decided that? Has someone found that this is the best amount to generate sales or is it only the list owners who want a certain amount of content to keep surfers happy?

Has anyone experimented with this to see what sells the best vs. bandwidth consumption?

I have 10+ FS with movies and they all have 120+ secs. Most surfers hit a few of the movies and then move on. Most of the time it is the first clip and the last clip. Bandwidth usage is not that bad and the conversions are great.

running time of each movie: 10 sec
allinall running time of all movies: 120 sec
encoding: mpeg or also wmv
