Richard's Realm question

Misleading banner(s)? I thought banners must be clickable... and whenever I am emailing and asking what to change I am not entertained with their reply.

This time this gallery got rejected:

Lol both links are working again... :)

They might have rejected it because the top row of thumbs, just beneath the recips, appear to be clickable thumbs, but they are not. There's rules against using banners and image that can mistaken for clickable thumbs which are not linked to the corresponding larger image.

"What is a misleading banner?
Misleading banners are very similar to misleading links (above), except the banner is designed to fool or "trick" the surfer into clicking on it. For example:

* Banners which are made to appear like one or more thumbnails."

I hear ya hon :)

But the exact same design got listed there a few times because if you move your mouse over them you'll see they are not clickable and are a header or topper and not a banner.. imo.

Another point to consider, Your header is large which pushes the content far down the page. You have the recips, the blue thumbs, text, a text box, and then the content begins. One general unspoken rule of thumb is, at least half or close to half, of your content should be visible before the fold in the page. Meaning that the reviewer or surfer does not need to scroll to see the first row or two of thumbnail images.

Some sites do not have a preference either way as long as the thumbs are of good quality and a good size. Each site is different, but it is something to consider when creating layouts.

Oh I know. There is no rhyme or reason to it sometimes. ;) Different reviewers have different opinions...

I read both of your comment Panky and while you are right I am pushing this site using a couple of templates and so far this one is the most popular:
http://www.goth-fetish.com/aw/rosanna20/ph.html
in different colors matching their categories... with a topper too.

;)
