How much time do you spend on your LL?

Ok so I'm thinking of starting up (just another) Link List :). I'm still tumbling around with the idea and I won't do it just yet at all, will require serious planning - couze if I wanna do this thing I realize I gotta do it full-force to the best of my skills.

But I'm also wondering how much time you have to spend daily to maintain your link list? I've just started reviewing galleries at a dude's TGP and he gets like 250 galleries/day or so but he's also in some TGP autosubmitter databases and so on - and a gallery is pretty quick to review too. A free site is 4+ pages so I would think it takes 2-3 minutes to review the whole thing.

So yeah, how much time do you spend on tweaking your LL and accepting submisions daily? :)

PS: It would also be great if you would post a tip or 2 that you wish you had known when you started a link list ;)

Too much time..:(

Big tip I think is to have it as automated as possible. The more you automate, the less "work" you need to do, also the more time you save. When I first started, I did everything by hand and it was so fricking time consuming. Also, really think it out and set it up right the first time. If I knew what I know now, when I started, some of my sites would have a much different structure.

Ya, your right, it's more than just one gallery page to look at, so gonna be more time. Also, have a script/system that will get rid of the crap on submit, so you dont even have to review the ones that wont make it in the first place.

When I started I didn't know what a link list was!
I had ideas for a "gentlemen's lounge" but what did I know.
Consequently it's been an uphill struggle.
At least you know what you want to achieve. Should be a piece of piss (not) :)

Thanks for the replies guys! I have taken a note on the automation part ;) - and yeah eman I should know what I'm doing, though I will definitely have to do some serious SE read-up to make sure I do everything correct there - anyone got any good SE links about hardlinks and general SEO of pages?

Also, Link list owners, are you satisfied with the script your using? if so, please tell me why it's the best ;)

It takes me about minute to review one site/gallery, so it is about one hour per day I have to spend with my LL.

I spend most of my time on reviews and maintaining the existing listings - would say about 12hours/day 7days/week

You scared him pretty good, Rocco :)

If you want to build it to compete plan to spend about 300-400 hours setting it up then at least 20 hours/week.

I spend 10-15 minutes every 2-3 days on Filthy Earl. :D It's not fully developed yet, so Earl isn't overly demanding. Once I'm done my current thingy, I'll start beefing up the old boy.

It usually takes us 4-8 hours/day to keep up with the new submissions.
