Using non-nude model images, fair use?
If you were to have a page dedicated to a model and wanted to use a small thumbnail image of her, non nude or cropped from nude (ignore the 2257 debate on this for a moment), is that considered fair use?
I could pull one from some sponsor content but I may be breaking their policies by promoting their sites AND others on the same page as that image. So I'll be staying away from doing that. Is there anywhere I can get images to use and have them be considered fair use? Do Canadian/US magazines pay fees each time they use a small image of an actor each time they write a blurb about them? I don't think they do. But, then again, I'm not a lawyer. |

Now that I think of it, half of the IMDB pages I visit don't have actor/actress portraits. Maybe fair use doesn't cover this...

For content that the program owns exclusively, it should not be a problem. Many programs only offer content they've licensed only for themselves, not affiliates; and so you would not be covered to crop a pic and host it on your own domain.
btw- I saw that you just signed up for our program. Our content is all shot in house, so feel free to use whatever you need:-) |
