What's going on here - should I be worried?

http://www.google.com/search?sourcei...en&q=cfnmparty

Current #7 'cfnmparty adult search engine' which is a page on adoolt.com

As far as I can see it is basically a copy of all my text with no link to me anywhere? Anyone heard of them, dealt with them, had any experience of them?

Linkster 2005-06-08 05:51 AM

Looks like they are just running a bot around that copies the text without links to their auto-generated pages - trying to get more SE listings by the batch-processed approach - legalities - copyright infringement but then so is Googles cache of your page (of course I would have a hard time taking any action against Google LOL)

Thanks Linkster :)

Another cunt:

Is it worth me doing anything about these or am I wasting time & energy unnecessarily?

If it is, what's the best thing to do?

Thanks :)

So many people do this, it's just amazing, they use other sites names to try and get ranks. Never seem to last long though. Most times it's a waste of time and energy, to try and go after them. Probably scammers with fake whois anyways.

this is illegal, but there's almost no way to get them stopped, they keep building new ones day for day. have many customers I try to get those cheaters shut the sites down.

The weakness of copy theft like that can be the host. Sometimes, if you are dealing with a newbie theif, they have a host that can be convinced to shut them down by the threat of a copyright action.

In theory, every reputable host will respond to a copyroght threat.

In practice, clever theives use hosts that laugh at copyrights.

Not on subject but anyone who clicked that link (fun.in.ua) bewarned that it installs a trojan on your computer the moment it redirects. If your anti virus didn't warn you, do a disk check for you may be infected.

Could you explain how its illegal? That implies a violation of a law which would hold criminal penalties - all I can see is some possible (but probably not) copyright violations but nothing even close to criminal?

Thanks all,
re trojan, didn't flag for me, can a mod unlink the link? Apologies if anyone got infected, should have looked closer before I posted the link.
