Anyone know how to get ahold of Ray Morris from Strong Box ASAP?

One of his domains is down and it's causing my paysites to be down. I need to call him ASAP and I can't get to his phone number on http://webmastersguide.com/

HELP!

Thanks for moving this thread to such a low profile area. :(

Anyway.....this problem affects everyone using Strong Box and I know there are SEVERAL people on this message forum that use it.

People can't login to your paysites right now due to a 500 ISE error. Login fully to the members area and you'll see. Good luck with the chargebacks.

I just logged into FoxyAngel.com which uses Strongbox without any problem.

You may want to check this thread for Strongbox info

I think you might be a little confused about strongbox. It doesn't use any of his servers at all. That's one of the best features; you don't have to rely on anyone else's stuff but your own.

Just logged in through strongbox just fine.

Actually, I believe there are some options that can be enabled that do check from a server.

I think if you disable the proxy check you should be good to go Jen.

in config.pl, change $check_proxies = 1; to $check_proxies = 0;

If I recall, he also did a check to a whois server (not his), and sometimes the whois server will throttle responses.

Check Proxies features does go to another server and it was crashing. The code should never simply crash like it does. The competition states clearly in thier FAQ that they do NOT crash when not being able to reach servers.

I also turned off the check proxies options with no luck.

Things were down around 8:15 AM to 11:00 AM EST. That's a long window of downtime.

Actually you're wrong. There was a big thread on GFY about it too. Something calls to his server on the domain "bettercgi.com" and that domain was down making all sites have 500 ISE errors when trying to login.

Cleo probably tried it after it came back up because EVERYONE was affected.

There was indeed a problem with our proxy database server yesterday,
which we fixed. Strongbox includes two different features that should
prevent this from cauing a problem, but some installations had a bug such
that when our server was down some members had difficulty logging in.

Kudos to cd34 for posting the workaround.

Though the server should be good to go now, anyone with affected sites may
want to grab the updated proxycheck.pl and isp.pl files. The new files can be uploaded
to cgi-bin/sblogin/. If you installation is old enough to be installed in /login/ you don't
have or need these files.
I suggest renaming the two old files before uploading the new ones, so you can
easily switch back if you have difficulty logging in with the new ones.
The new ones will also make the login process faster after themember has already
logged in once, as part of the fix was related to the local caching of country,
proxy, and ISP information.
The updated files can be found at:
http://www.bettercgi.com/tmp/proxycheck.txt
http://www.bettercgi.com/tmp/isp.txt

Rename the files to ".pl" instead of ".txt".
