It will be particularly interesting if the DOJ storm troopers are already in the field (as I expect they will be).

First inspects will be Thursday morning 8AM. Be there and be screwed.

Toby 2005-06-21 02:27 PM

I disagree, I don't think the DOJ will be chomping at the bit to do inspections at the first possible minute after the regs go into effect. I think they're going to wait to see what the judge in Denver does first, no sense in spending a bunch of time and resources doing inspections. Any charges as a result will very likley get tossed out later if the judge issues a TRO.

I think they will nab a few fast because they were ridiculed on CNN for not policing up anyone under current 2257rules so tehey prolly gonna make a few guinea pigs out of a certain few You can guarantee they already have their targets picked out they prolly have had them lined up for a few months now just waitng for the 23rd to roll around

If we live on the west coast do we have until 11:59PM PST?

Linkster 2005-06-21 10:24 PM

I swear we need to invest in paranoia pills - there's gonna be a huge market for them here in a few days (going off to read the stock pages for pharmaceutical companies)

Ya'll need to chill on worrying about lowly friggin WMs like the kind that talk here every day - if anyone is gonna get inspected - it will be scheduled and will go through in accordance with a normal time-table set by the DOJ - and if they have a target or two in mind - those targets already know about it

Damn people - stop your friggin fear-mongerin

I'd guess the new regs actually need to be in effect for a TRO hearing to take place. Currently, the old regs are still in effect.

Yeah, and I've never been in compliance with the old ones. The DOJ can't really expect a guy like me to take this seriously. :D

Jeremy 2005-06-22 12:34 PM

Linkster - would that be for Regulation updates or for brand new Regs? (Might make a difference).

Linkster 2005-06-22 12:55 PM

jeremy - the magic of a dissapearing post LOL - in answer - Im not sure - which is why I pulled my last post - I wanted to do some quick checking, as it may be that the FSC needs someone to actually have a case brought against them (in the first 12 hours its active) with the new regs in order to really show that they would have a propensity to prevail - Again Im just guessing here as I am definitely not a lawyer LOL

Jeremy 2005-06-22 01:13 PM

Fair enough mate :-)) IMO, until it's litigated against none of us really know much of anything :-))

If anyone is interested thats a recent interview with a guy from FSC about 2257

mrMagoo 2005-06-22 03:30 PM

Very interesting :)

I particularly like that part at the end where he talks about being more proactive in combating the propaganda in the news. |pink
