I need an mpeg splitter - any ideas?

Looking for a mpeg editer that will simply split a long movie into how ever many scenes I think I need.
I've tried out 4 today that all ended up producing corrupt files.

If you are using XP then I think the windows movie maker will do it.

Check out a program called EO Video, I've heard good things about it.

if you'relooking for a tool that simply split the files without the need of rebuilding the index, i reccommend HJSPLIT, it's very fast, look for it on download.com - or if u want i can icq it to you.

VCDcutter. point it at an mpeg and tell it to cut it into whatever number of mpegs you want.

Cost $20, distributed as cripware, it can cut a short mpeg to demonstrate.

google it. ;-}

I've used a few but really like this one. It will split all files, mpg, avi and wmv which is good. All you do is load the video and it starts playing then you click the start button to choose where to start the clip and click end to choose the ending spot. Viola, you have your clip.

Free trial then it's $20 I think.

Does any of those programs make thumbs(screen shots) of the movies that you can use on the sites you build to link to the movies? I have some cool video content that I would like to use but no thumbs for it......:/ like the Topbucks movies.......they dont deliver thumbs with the movie downloads in their free content section, so I would really like to know a program that does it :)

I use Videocharge from http://www.videocharge.com it costs $40 very easy to use and it can make screenshots as well

Covers most movie types but not .wmv

Thanks all!
EZSplitter does pretty much exactly what I need.
Simple enough for even me to use LOL

Now to find a thumbnailer that has a batch function.
