Content issues
 

OK well as most of you know I have a camsite. Which in it self is a whole issue as hindsite is 20/20 an maybe I should have waited before I even go involved with it but fact is I have it an now have to work all the issues with it. Anyway I have no content and can not use the content from the cam images as they are not good enough or large enough. I'm wondering if it's possible to still be able to use the cam images for submits, but in main larger image place a live stream to it. If no model is online then the code would kick out that models cam stil image to fill the hole in the gallery. The reason I ask this is I know the whole idea is to provide the viewer with quality content in order to get them to buy. Being cam images are not classified as quality I am trying to make up the difference in the live stream. Its been said that video converts well, better then stills. I am thinking maybe live video will do the same. Any wisdom would be great. I can place up a crappy example of what i mean if anyone wants to contact me on ICQ I dont want to leave a live stream of my ugly ass running all day for testing viewing purposes. Ray

I don't think you want to open up your live feeds to TGP surfers, you'll be hotlinked from every free message board etc. on the planet. I'll repeat the suggestion I made a couple of days ago. Capture some video from a few live shows, make 20 to 30 sec video clips, then a submit galleries with 4 to 6 clips (120 sec total). The bandwidth will be an issue, so inexpensive hosting is important. I've seen posts on some TGP/MGP boards claiming to have hosting for 15¢ per gig. Given that you're selling live cams the vid clips should be more effective than still images.

Thanks Toby but I can not capture the video. The software we are using will not let that happen. This is getting very fustrating as it seems every turn I make has a wall. But I guess I will just have to keep trying. Thanks

If any of your models are using video cameras rather than simple webcams they could make you a tape or DVD and send it to you.

I've been down this road before. The technology was a bit different as it was about 8 years ago, but that's what we did. We had the cam girls send us video tapes and we then did higher resolution still captures from that. MGP galleries didn't exist at that time due to the bandwidth cost.

Understood and just found out from the wife it is possible to do this with 3rd party software. Well at least thats one wall knocked down today. Now on to getting some vids. Thanks Man.

I have been mulling over some possibilities. My wife needs to go home. She has not seen her family in 1 1/2 years. I just want to make sure I can write this off as a business expense. But I think it would be best for us to head there soon. I'm thinking being her dad is comming maybe we will place this trip a few weeks before his and come back with him. Thanks Guys...

i don't know what type of interface you have but most of the larger tgp/link lists have webcam catagories..and they will take webcam captures for that catagory only.
the 320x240 ones.

Running cam girls isn't easy. I have to kick my 75 in the ass all the time and they are US based.. so i can imagine how hard it is trying to do this 1000's of miles away..

We try to get a group together at least 2 or 3 times a year to do marathon photo sessions.. with hotels or rental homes.. you put one in each room and then just shoot.. and rotate..

another thing you can do, tho it is time consuming.. but cheaper than 2 airline tickets.. buy a bunch of throw away cams.. and send them.. tell them exactly what you want.. and then have them send you the camera back.. you can have them developed on cd and pull the content from there..

Thanks Doc. We are most likly going to just head there. Like I said my wife needs to go home. We are also looking for models and at this point all of them are Romanian due to my wifes friends etc. I think if we head there we can get something going pretty easy. Besides we are talking about turning this into a 2 or 3 time a year thing. So content can be updated and wifey can see mom and dad.
