LL Submissions down due to 2257 at all?

Just curious, how are submission numbers lately for some of the big linklists since 2257 was enacted? Same number of submits, less? What about content? are you seeing alot less hardcore content? Just curious!

I can't speak for LL owners, but I can say that subs to my TGP's have been down for the last couple of weeks.

Preacher 2005-06-24 06:25 PM

and I'd imagine that losing recip's from sites 404'ing will also effect PR ratings. How long until that starts to show?

eman 2005-06-24 06:34 PM

We're by no means a big LL but subs are definitely down. Submitters have their own problems to contend with we imagine.

On the other hand some of our best performing sponsor progs are way down with conversions.

spookyx 2005-06-24 06:51 PM

I am submitting everyday now. And I am not going to do just softcore.

of course I do have the model ID's of everything I submit, so its a moot point.

:D

Maybe I should do some TGP Galleries too...

Linkster 2005-06-24 06:58 PM

eman - I was going to post that in another thread - its almost as if a few sponsor programs have decided to pay for their trouble with 2257 with aff income - its a real shame because its so very obvious which ones are doing it

Linkster 2005-06-24 06:59 PM

LL submissions - well - looks like about half today of what I used to get - although the percentage of autosubmits and cheats is way up - I guess because the regular submitters are missing in action which drives up that other side

RawAlex 2005-06-24 07:25 PM

Linkster, findpics has a limited submits per day, and in some cases, I am no longer hitting that number. I am seeing a higher concentration of submits coming from webmasters outside of the US at this point.

I think most people are in the same position I am. Even though I am not in the US and not bound directly by 2257 regulations, I am caught having to pull sponsor content, switch or remove banners, and basically clear up because some sponsors have had to pull sites.

Most of these sponsors sadly waited until the last minute to get going, so many programs right now have NO VALID BANNERS.

It's really a major fuckup all around.

I wish I was in the business of making banners, those people have got to be ROCKING now.

same here submitts are down and I been so busy I havnt had time to build and yes sales are down as well... And if it wasnt for my main sponsor having nats I would think they are shaving - ratios are so bad..

Linkster 2005-06-24 07:50 PM

plateman - you think that would really stop it LOL

Alex - most definitely - and Id love to be in the banner biz here in another 2 months - again LOL

Yeah tell me about it I been going to softcore banners and text links on my LL and most programs dont have any right now LOL

then I replaced some content and fixed up and submitted some old sites and then its run the bot remove sites and review and then review parttime on another LL and then work a little on the banners again... I would just pull all the banners but I had alt tags and didnt want to risk fucking up some SE listings I have..

I am spent, all this worry over 2257 shit I am starting to really hate this whole fuckin BIZ If it wasnt for all the time I have in my LL I think I would delete everything - I think the only thing that is keep me going is that my LL is growing and giving me sales not a whole lot but some...

Business as usual here

Xeno 2005-06-24 08:26 PM

For my link directory...I don't think I've seen less submissions...in fact I am starting to see more (which is great). I am wondering if its because I am Canadian based...Not sure what that would do to help others but again, Im not complaining...hehe :)

Pusher 2005-06-24 08:53 PM

Haven't seen any change here...

That's interesting... so many programs don't have banners right now, and they are worried about hosted free sites?

Makes me wonder about the priorities.

I'd guess that they're adding HFS's and FHG's to replace the sexually explicit downloadable affiliate content that they've removed.

Sometimes I really wonder if sponsors understand the the concept of site/gallery posting.

I have been a little busy trying to get my house in order also. Everything is SEOd, so I want to do as little damage as possible by changing things. On the bright side, Google seems OK with a test I put up, so once this 2257 clears up, I should be picking up a whole bunch more traffic. |pink

Only a few sponsors that I didn't manage to convince that foreign WMs really shouldn't have to go through the exercise. Funny thing is that some I convinced still haven't changed their TOS to reflect it.

Interesting points here,
Linkster - that makes complete sense about shaving, one sponsor I used to be consistent with I've not made a sale with for over a month, even though I'm sending more traffic to them than ever.

Tickler - I've also contacted a few sponsors and asked them if it's OK through choice to keep using hardcore banners and such, most said no problem - my choice, a couple said nothing at all, none said no.

MadMax 2005-06-25 01:01 PM

business as usual here as well :)
