TGP Traffic Help
 

OK so I have been asking a few people that run TGP's / MGP's questions about how to get traffic flowing through / to my TGP. After asking I am more confused than ever. I have basically been given two schools of thought:

1. Set the skim ration really high (70% to trades) and get fresh unique surfers into the site because you will get more uniques and thats what you want.

2. Turn off skimming and just do perm links on the site and let the people bookmark.

Now I am really confused, the site is located at http://www.phatsluts.com I guess I would like some recommendations from you guys on how to build the traffic up on a new TGP. I have some more purchased traffic coming today or tomorrow for abotu 2 weeks and am curious as to how to use it now.

I am running Comus Thumbs for the TGP script and TM3 for trading.

Any and all advice would be appreciated, I really would like to get this thing off the ground with some good traffic.

Hey Acid, Ill offer some advice, lord knows I have had some Tgp's in the day, I run Dirty Daughter, and Fetish Pig Currently. I previously ran 20 Tgp's but when we changed our affiliate program I moved the traffic. When starting new tgp's here's what I did.

1. 50% Skim Ratio to trades Day 1
2. 30% Skim Ratio to trades Day 2 + Update
3. Put out Galleries with nice new content that contained links to my Tgp instead of a paysite.
4. onstantly look for new trades if your running a script, the more you have the better.
5. Pay attention to productivity ratios, if everyone is bad, surfers arent staying on your site and thats bad. (in a way).

The biggest thing is being consistant in your decisions and working hard at it, the traffic might seem like it comes easy, but it certainly will not stay easy.

I guess to clarify and to make sure I understand what you are saying. So for "Today's" galleries skim 50% then, for the rest of the galleries on my site (Hall of Fame, Yesterday, Day before Yesterday) keep the skim ratios to only 30% ?

I am currently using TM3 which will allow me to make groups and skim at different ratios.

Just wanted to make sure I understood it properly, as I really want this thing to grow and dont entirely understand the trading scripts yet.

I've never understood how TGP's are so popular with surfers will all the blind links to trades - LOL

They should stop by a few link lists :)

Perm links will earn you more bookmarkers IF your daily galleries are nice. But it will take a very very long time to build any traffic that way. It's better traffic they say but it'll take longer.

For your regular everyday traffic, setting the skim at 70% (or 30% same thing) seems to be the norm. However, if you have bought some traffic for the next 2 weeks you might want to set the skim higher to feeds your trades and hopefully earn some good traffic back that may bookmark.

There are other variables as well like trading with sites that have traffic matching your galleries. And as John said, work with the skim on different parts of your site.

OK What about leaving most of my links going to the galleries and just putting a link trade via a blind thumb every X thumbnails?

Would that work better than just skimming?

Link lists are just like TGP's but it's sites that are listed instead of galleries. Plus we have less blind links :D

Don't blindlink thumbnails. I hear it creates very bad prod.

You could leave the links unskimmed if you want and add blink links in there every 5 links or so instead like Thumbzilla does. There's lots of ways of doing but you have to try them on your own I guess.

Thats what Im doing with my mgp site.
Ramster, you says that you have heard it could create bad prod. My question is what the diffence between blindlinking a thumb and using a traffic script.
The reason Im doing the blindlink, is that I dont have those 300-400$ for the trafficscript on my paypal account yet :)

Actually my very small TGP has been doing great at what I designed it for, feeding traffic into my link list. I guess after they get sick of all the TGP crap they come over to my much more friendly link list, lol.

I don't really understand why people would go back to a site that kicked them to the moon every time they clicked something.

I was thinking of having a trade script installed, but went to a few tgp's and by the time I was done "I threw down my mouse stood up gave the PC the finger and screamed PISS OFF MOTHER FUCKER as loud as I could". |angry| |angry| |angry|

This is why I'm glad I got in the game when I did. Back then, a trade was a trade. No blind linking. No hit bots. No crap traffic. I pop your link up, you pop mine up.
And remember how productive everything was guys?!?! Time were good back then.

Then about 2 1/2-3 years ago, everything started changing. All these shitty sites started popping up all over. Blind links everywhere. Redirects. Click a link and get endless pop ups. Cheaters came in droves and starting opening up site after site after site. And what happened? Signups started dropping. Ratios fell. Productivity fell. People became afraid to click anything.

And in the middle of all that, I held true to the no blindlink rule for drbizzaro.com and it's worked out very well for me. I think my surfers trust my site, so they can click on everything.

Only in the last year did I start letting these big CJ sites link to me.
The reason? Bookmarkers! I used to get about 20,000 new people bookmarking the site every month previous to that. Now I get about 100,000 - 120,000 new bookmarkers every month. I contribute it to all the CJ sites that send me traffic. You push them here and there and back again. Then you push them to me and I'll keep them for my own.

I think a surfer gets to my site and thinks.."FINALLY!"

Webmaster always email me asking how to drive traffic to a new TGP they are starting. Honestly today, without a big site to push traffic from, it seems like it's 100 times harder then 4 years ago. I really don't know what to tell them.

Max Blowjobs lists both TGP galleries and LL sites - and as long as the rules are followed, it will list any format of free site.

There are quite a few other sites which do this.... and are neither TGP or Link List.

You can still do well if you run a surfer friendly TGP or LL. When you start blind linking and popping consoles on your visitors say good-bye to them. A fairly simple concept to me. |bananna| |bananna| |bananna|

I say, JERK the free porn surfers around. Over and over Then send 'em to a nice, clean pay site. Make them pay for the privelege of surfing without blind links, consoles and popups.

That's just my opinion, I don't actually use any of those things.. yet.

They've got to pay for SOMETHING after all.

Then, if they try to leave your nice, clean paysite.. send them back to console hell.
