Studio Lighten Question
Howdy,
I am looking for some strobes under $1,000 and was considering Novatrons until I noticed Cleo mentioned she thought they weren't very good. Does anyone have any recommendations? |
The Novatrons that I had spent more time in repair then using them. I finally tossed them the day that one head and two power packs blew up in one day.

look up "Alien Bees" ;)
|
Angel has three Alien Bees. They are pretty decent other then their modeling lights are not that great but the strobes are good.
If you can try to get strobes with halogen modeling lights instead of regular screw in bulbs not that this will affect how the pics come out but it does make it easier to see what the actual lighting will be. |
Thanks for the input folks.

Wow the peeps over there are really nice :) This sounds like a perfect product for me.

no problem, glad I could help ;)

MY personnal opinon is I had used speedotron 99% of the time. Reason why was 99% of the real shooters back then were using them cause they are work horses. I dropped mine from the tops of vans and they still worked just fine. But the stobe it self is what you need to look into. Many of the lights I have used just could not compair to heavy duty quality. But there are others out there. If you are going to spend the money I would seriously look into ebay you can find some great deals if you know what you are looking for .

We are looking at this two head kit right now.
http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/cont...goryNavigation Seems to be everything that we are looking for. I like the 300 watt modeling lights in the strobes. I don't know nothing about the brand but it is what B&H is pushing when Angel visited the store in person last week. |
