galleries viewed 15k times.. no sales?
 

Hi there.. I'm new to the adult buHi there.. I'm new to the adult business so I don’t have a lot of experience in that field yet.
I own a ftgp (www.pornotgb.com) which has been up and running now for about 3 weeks.
I’m keeping track on the galleries that are being visited.
I would like to know about how many gallery views it takes you folks to make a sale.
My gallery view count is 15000 and I haven’t made any!
In order to gain some traffic I’m asking the user before the 3rd, 8th, 16th, 32nd, and 50th gallery view to visit a top list..

Please advise me.. am I doing something wrong?

15000 gallery views will get you anywhere from 200 to 1500 hits to the sponsor depending on many factors. Not making any sales on 200-1500 hits to a sponsor is normal. In the long run if you keep getting gallery views you will make sales.

the sponsors got clicked about 460 times..
I sure hope it keeps going up.. since I would love to have some of that stuff that you are waving around in your avatar ;-)

when was a newbie(probably still am) it dont take one long to learn it takes a shit load of traffic to the galleries and a nice chunk of it to the sponsor and then a lot of factors come into play there also...

Not the least bit surprising, unfortunately....Most TGP surfers are freeloaders and have long since figured out that once they click-through, they're going to be asked for money.

I'm a relative newbie too, and I admit that I have never made a sale off a TGP gallery. Granted, I haven't spent much (if any) time trying to get a ton of traffic to them, but the CTR is so dismal for me, even when I use galleries that did well on a freesite. Freesites for linklists are much more productive, IMHO.

Just curious, since you mentioned your own TGP....is that 15,000 to one gallery? Average for each gallery? Or all galleries combined?

I have little experience and therefore nothing to add but thought I would mention that your "Menu" is messed up in Firefox running on my Linux desktop. The menu items overlap badly. Don't know if this is the same for others with more common operating systems and browsers.

@madleinx: all galleries combined.. I have 350 galleries in the DB right now
@artwiliams: thanks! I will check it out under linux.. IE, Firefox (Win), Netscape work fine for me.. It also might be that I updated the links in the menu and you poped in in that one second where it, in that case, overlaps..

about the freeloader thing.. I was aware of that.. But I only added 10 galleries with consoles.. and those were just a small part of the sponsor visits..

I guess I will keep trying for some months, and if it doesn't work out I will convert the ftgp to a tgp (open up for gallery posters..)
or sell the site for a small amount
or just look at the porn myself .. hehe
or start from scratch

OH!! Well....in that case, you're not doing badly at all. 15000 uniques to one gallery is a whole different thing than 15000 views spread across 350 pages. You just need more traffic ;) If I'm remembering all of this correctly, most individual galleries will make a sale every 5000-10000 uniques (somebody correct me if I'm wrong here, please!!). I doubt that any single one of the galleries on your TGP has gotten 10000 page views, so it's a little too early to tell. Keep working at it!
