Hard Link Trades Management

I am putting together a link list and it seems to be working okay. I've got an ad management program working too. Now, I am trying to figure out what to do with hard link trades. With 28 categories it could, some day, become a bitch to manage. Specifically, I am thinking about recip checking but also about accepting trades too.

My questionis this, do you use a hard link management script to manage your trades? If so, which one? If not, how do you manage pages of hard links?

Thank you kindly for your help!

Cheers,

Ask me this question again in 3 or 4 weeks, I'm working on a hard link management script right now :)

To start out with, I had everything in a text file. 2 weeks later everything was a HUGE mess. So I made a trade manager and it keeps track of everything. HUGE time and headache saver :)

I guess I dont understand the question - what's to manage? You add the links and the other person adds their links - seems pretty straightforward. Sounds like way too much time to spend wasted actually trying to "manage" these links???

Same here put them up and forget about it unless they ask you to take them. This for people you trust.

The rest check on a regular basis and if the are unproductive or 302 to some shit hole drop them.

Scripts are great but but good solid knowledgeable business practices work best. Scripts are unforgiving.

Linkster,

Sometimes people update their pages and forget to add all the trades - has happened to me.
Sometimes trades forget to renew their domain - has happened to me.
Sometimes they update the URL and forget to tell the trade - has also happened.

Also adding the link(s) in the manager is faster than loading Homesite, find the page, add the trade, upload and then add it to the text/excel document.

Thanks Swedguy. That's what I was kinda thinking. I found Link XXX Change. I think I'll give it a look.

I guess because I use a bot to check my links I dont really think about those types of things - I get a report everytime it runs if someones cat trade changes or if its removed.
Also adding in trades is pretty easy for me as I dont use an html editor (kinda obvious on my sites LOL) and if I really got ambitious, I guess I would just do an include file that could be changed with new trades - but then thats more work than the way I do it now :)
