perfect gonzo not so perfect
Yo adultmasters
Well I have been particularally impressed with perfect gonzo for some time, thier high quality sites and loads of premotional content make the a very nice sponsor to use. However I am very disappointed with one part of thier program a very important part; thier stats. Sure you can get any date range you want, or have it filtered by program or niche, but all the stats they show you are actually 2nd page uniques not 1st page uniques! This is not indicated anywhere! They are trying to trick the no vigiliant adult webmaster into believing that thier 2nd page clicks to sign ratio is there real signup ratio! I looked at my stats and went WOW 1:60 but then realised it was more like 1:240 roughly, now not to shabby at all but they tried to hide this behind there impressive 2nd page ratio. More and more sponsors are trying to mislead us like this, and I hope we will stand together against this and demand transperant reliable stats from all our affiliates. Now greenguy? are the stats you list for perfectgonzo 1st page uniques or 2nd page uniques? I emailed perfectgonzo on this matter, they say they will have a improved stats in the future but this is some time off. If you agree with me or have an opinion on this please share it because I would like to see some change, and this can only happen if people get invlovled. Peace Tommy Tickler |
I don't really care if sponsors stats show 1st page or 2nd page clicks, as long as I know what I'm looking at.
|
Come to think of it, I actually signed up with Perfect Gonzo, because a webmaster listed the sponsor on their webmaster page and showed the ratio which was much better than their other sponsors. I'm sure the webmaster didn't know that only his 2nd page uniques were being counted in his stats.

They show first and second page hits...they also have one of the best stats tracking. If you click on the day you can see all your first page hits.
You'll find that most sponsor programs calculate their conversion ratio with a little voodoo economics. In the end it comes down to sales, etc. Gonzo for me was a cash cow for awhile, but now a lot of people are promoting it, the sponsor content is saturated, and it's a good time to move on. However, PG has always been top notch in support, bending over backwards for webmasters, etc. |
This is not new information you're bringing to the table, and I do very well with them. A lot of people do.
If you click on any date you'll be taken to a page that shows every hit. For instance, clicking on today's date would bring up this page (assuming you're logged in) http://www.perfectgonzo.com/webmaste...ate=2005-07-29 They pay on time, they convert well and support is always there for me. The only thing that matters is my paycheck. . |
I think GG listed them as one of his top converting until somebody pointed out that their ratios were second page hits.
I really like to see first page hits so I can evaluate which marketing techique is working the best. |
If you really really want to see the super-super-secret way to see the FULL stats, then re-read my post above and click the link in it.

Have you tried using a click tracking script? By using one I have gotten a better view of my traffic and their respective CTR.

I generally end up dropping sponsors who don't show first page clicks. Too much hazzle and lots of sponsors on the planet. |

I have always known that PG reported 2nd page clicks, all you have to do is click on the date and see your first page clicks. I don't spend a whole lot of time analyzing my stats and CTR. I analyze how much return I get for my time promoting a sponsor and PG gives me an excellent return. |
several sponsors show 2nd page clicks, or join page clicks. i could care less about ratios, i look at an ads ctr and the $ that comes from it, i care about the bottom line.
|
The best selling sponsor i had ever promoted. And i don't care about click counting, most important thing for me is amount of $ per visitors on my resources.
ps But they're too good so their sites comes overpromouted |
if you compare your $ per raw click sent (your stats) amongst all the sponsors you send to that is the most effective way to gauge relative performance.
|
a ton of programs do the same without even showing it. at least pg allows you to view the real stats :)
|
yeah - their numbers have even fooled me before - they are a pretty decent program though
|
have checked them out as well and am doing pretty fine with them
|
I have always been happy with their ratios
