Precise GeoIP

I've seen at least two sites that were displaying the town (or approximate location) of the web users.

I believe there are (free) GeoIP databases available but I don't believe they can pinpoint that precisely IPs.

Is it possible to purchase to GeoIP databases and if so, how much do they go for? (And how huuuuge are they?) Any scripts available to do that?

maxmind.com has the regional and city ones that most places are using. From there you can use fairly simple interfaces to get the city, state, country, etc. for most of the surfers.
