What to expect from a linklist with 1.5k uniques ?

hi everyone,

yes i'm serious :)

a couple of months ago, i took mr.marylou's advice, turned my back on skimmed tgps and started a little linklist. the ll is getting a little more than 1.5k unique visitors a day at the moment. the traffic is a mix of SE traffic + "linklist recip traffic" + avs traffic.
over the past weeks/months it generated about 15-20 avs signups + abour 30-40 sponsor signups in a 4 weeks period.

that seems a little low to me |sad| ... but on the other hand, i have absolutely no idea what to expect.

so the final question is. what sould/can i expect from a linklist with that amount of traffic. or better - what would you expect from your linklist with that amount of traffic ? seriously. i'm just trying to find out, if i sould change some stuff, or just increase the traffic.

thank you so much for any serious comments |smooch|

A link list is like a bucket full of holes - the more water (traffic) you throw into it the faster it runs out to other places.

1500 uniques a day is average for the majority of link lists. 99% of sales benefit from this traffic will go to the sites listed.

Are the avs sites you mention only linked to by your link list?

hi urb :)

i submitted the avs sites to a few other linklists as well. so maybe half of the avs sales comes from them :)

i have only my own sites listed on my linklist right now. not that i'm greedy or so, but when i went into the tgp-thingy last year, i received sooooo damn many cheater galleries...(made me sick !) :( and i didn't want to deal with that same problem on my linklist.

now i'm not sure, if i should continue like that...or rather open it for public submissions (to gain a little more traffic + have more sites listed in each category).

I think that's a cool way to be.... especially with 1500 uniques. :)

It sounds like what you have there is the start of a very good hub. Look at it this way:

How much time did you put into it?

Is that time worth the 11-15 sign ups you're getting per week?

I'd bet it is :D

guschi2k 2003-11-13 08:47 AM

:) from that point of view .... YES! hehe |horse|

Dude, if you are getting over 10 signups a week from a linklist with 1,5k traffic id say its very good! Keep working on building the traffic and building more sites for your LL, more signups will come your way :)

hi nickname,

thanks :) i will work my ass off, right after i'm finished with watching pirates of the caribbean for the fiftieth time (and thinking about a strategy on how to make more than 1 sale per 1k visitors) |horse|

Out of curiosity, is that the normal conversion rate for that kind of traffic? Has anyone done the math?

What are the average sign-ups for the big guys like Greeny, Tommy, Jim, Zilla, and others? Is it all haphazard, or are there measurable ratios based on the traffic received?

I don't even think I've heard what the average traffic number is for the major players. Have these figures been made public, or is it a trade secret?

Just curious.

Remember that he is only listing his own sites so his results are going to be completely different than one of the "big sites"

The best answer I can give you for the conversions on a big site like Tommys etc. - one of your sites posted is probably worth $10 or more from each LL - remembering that the length of time its posted varies between LLs - anywhere from a week to 6 months is average - and some for years :)

Thanks for the info, Linkster. :)

This brings up a larger question, but I'll start that in a new thread.
