Convert your diesel engine to used vegetable oil

I just saw this on CNN. You can convert exsisting diesel engines to used vegetable oil, for example from a deep fryer. |thumb

I wonder if those cars can run on Bio Willie? http://www.wnbiodiesel.com/ :)

yup vegetable oil burning engines kick ass. I had an old 86 ford f250 that I always wanted to convert over to run on waste grease. Unfortunately the truck died before I got around too it.

The diesel engine was origionally designed to run on peanut oil I have heard.

One day I will get another deisel and convert it over.

Just gotta figure out how to strain the chicken bones out of the grease ;)

Biodiesel has been around a while: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Biodiesel

If I ever got a car, I'd consider converting a (newer model) VW or a just going with a hybrid Civic. But for now, I'm happy to be waiting on my new custom-made bike that's going to cost me more than a used car. :)

If hemp were legal we'd have an alternative to oil. Aaaah in a perfect world....

I just seen this on my local news Friday morning. They interviewed two local guys who converted their cars over. One guy has a pump and he goes around to restaurant grease dumpsters and pumps out their old grease LOL.. I think it's a great idea. I heard it cost about $850 for the kit.

There used to be an RV that went around the country demonstrating the process of Fryer grease from McDonalds to biodiesel, but, I cannot find the link right now. I thought it was veggievan.org, but, that redirects to another site.

You could always open a Biodiesel station and sell oil made from the veggies used in vegporn. You could charge top dollar for that stuff. :)

hehe SirMoby. It's not that kind of vegporn. It's mostly homemade porn (most of it is shot by the people in it), featuring only vegans and vegetarians. Altho, it's possible some veggies were used somewhere. |thumb
