The effect of the adultcheck changes..

Obvioulsy with AC dumping a load of webmasters there are going to be a lot of sites changing over to another system.

This is fine for those linklists who just say that these sites are an AVS site but what about those who specifically indentify the avs used on a site?

What will you do, given the circumstances, should someone change to another avs - blacklist them, drop the site etc or would you prefer people to email letting you know the sites have changed to another system?

Thanks

Most link lists have deleted all AVS sites from their links. I just list them as AVS so I will run my bot to see what has changed (without blacklisting) and go through many manually to delete what I have to.

My AC sites have been switched over to OneVerify since I already had a few sites there making it easy to do.

I pulled all of my AC listing from my link list. :(

I also pulled all Cyberage listings, including my own, when they made their changes awhile ago.

SimonT,

Good question.

I know on our LL we'll be re-reviewing each AC site by hand to check that the login still works on them. If it no longer works (the site was deactivated), those sites will be removed.
If we find an AC site now using another AVS, we'll just update this info in our databases (since this is a special case with AC sites at the moment).

In general though, swapping AVS's or changing your URLs after approval will get the site deleted and possibly banned, unless the webmaster notifies us in advance.

Peace,
Verbal

I noticed that Cleo |cry|

What I don't want to do is to get into crap with people for changing scripts, something which I have to do pretty quickly.

I'm hoping, given the situation that this might be something that is overlooked with AC sites right now as I suspect most people will be engrossed in getting their sites changed over than firing off emails to linklists - not to mention the amount of emails those list owners would receive|scared|

I own a small LL and I have pulled all AC AVS sites that I have and I will not be accepting any of their sites ever agian even their new program sites.|pissed|

This is too bad on a lot of fronts. For one I have alot of AVS sites that make me money and I like to submit them to various LL and it is getting harder and harder to get them listed. I really think there is a future in AVS sites but it will change as we go along and I hate to see others penalize us for it. I'm sorry that I have to change the script every 6 months or I have to change some of the text, but in this buisness if you don't change then you lose out. Cleo I'm sad to hear that you won't list CA sites not even your own. I hope you will change this as I see CA trying very hard to keep the AVS buisness alive!|sad|

I pulled all the AC sites that were dumped - none were blacklisted & all are welcome to resubmit if they throw up a different AVS (assuming the AVS complies to my rules)

Not many do comply with your rules. OneVerify and CyberAge do not correct?

Oh, and when you say dumped do you mean ALL of them or just the ones your bot picked up as 404, 302 or whatever. My domains are all there and working but are now OneVerify so you may need an email from me to drop those.

Greenguy 2003-11-14 07:38 PM

We did it the day it was announced (maybe even before, since I knew it was coming) So any sites that had the old AC scripts on them got deleted - any sites that had the new AC script on them were left alone.

So, odds are you're are no longer listed :(

I don't take Cyber Age - I forget if One Verify has a FPA or not.

Ramster 2003-11-14 07:50 PM

I think it does. I asked MrMaryLou why my site wasn't listed once upon a time and he said it was because of that AVS.

SimonT 2003-11-15 05:02 AM

GreenGuy

I still have ac sites up listed with you.

Is it possible for you to dump all my avs sites submitted under the name of SimonT so that I can re submit them under a different avs?

Thanks

SimonT - you sure you're not Tier 1? I see 6 sites in there with the new AC scripts on them & as far as I know, only Tier 1's have that coding.

Also, I don't list Netverifier sites due to their FPA :(

Linkster 2003-11-15 10:55 AM

I also have pulled all AVS sites from display on the LL - all CA sites, including my own will be deleted due to the changes CA made (screwing the site builder as far as Im concerned).

The AC sites are gone and will not be coming back.
All other AVS's are being hand reviewed and once we have that completed they will be added back in - IF - the other AVS programs dont make changes similar to CA

Hi Greenguy

Nope, I was offered tier 2 but after careful consideration I've decided to lose the dwindling rebills - the new scripts have been available for a while, I think Edison had asked people to start using them as and when sites got updated.

LOL, I didn't know NV used a FPA - never mind, feel free to dump those sites then

Thanks anyway
