Should I mess with my keywords?
Ok well I just started getting listed like yesterday for about 2 key phrases. Im on yahoo and msn not google yet. My question is should I mess with the key phrases now in order to try an get listed higher for other phrases? I only have 1 html page to screw with and if I keep on optimizing this page its going to look like crap. I can only place so many of the key phrases in the body, title, etc before this whole page just looks like 1 large optized search engine page. The key phrases I'm getting listed under were not in my page but they are good ones so yesterday I added them.
Funny thing is they are not in my title or description. The stuff that is, has not shown under any SE. I would like to be able to stay on top of this now. But I'm a little scared that if I start fixing stuff that aint broken, well then Im going to break it and have to start all over again. Any ideas or advice please. Jugg.. |
Build more pages. Link them from and to your initial page.
Think about your keywords, and put rarer keywords in your text and title. Link your pages with other people who are also looking for search engine traffic in your niche. |
Ok then, I'm going to leave it for a few days. The words that did not show up in the search were the rare ones and they are in the text and title. So I'll wait maybe 1 or 2 weeks and see how they rank, if at all and then change the game plan at that time. I am currently working on linking with my niche so that will be the main part of this project durring my two weeks. I am building Free sites to promo the main site so linking from the main to the free is not really an option but free to the main site is. Or when you say build more pages do you mean build "dummy pages" that are inside the site linking back and forth? This I might be able to pull off with some extra pages. I have a ton of text on some of the pages and can split them up into differant sections for each page. IE right now I have a faq for hosts and viewers listed on one page. I can split that into two pages. Thanks Bill

Hey juggernaut don't change anything on your index page for at least two months
You can build more pages on the site adding content, you can build free sites with a link to your index page, if you have your blog going you can link to your index page from your blog, I lost listing on two sites this month because of me screwing with the index pages |pimpin |
Will do Pat. Thank you :)
