Tips Needed to win affiliates

This is hard work, I knew it would be though I need tips.

I am already seeing the areas where I have made mistakes, GG pointed out two to me -

1) Codes not carrying through
2) CCBill button

Silly mistakes though ones that should never have happened. Another weakness is the lack of free sites I currently have to offer.

Chops was kind enough to mail me and provide me more feedback stating that I should add descriptions for galleries / FS -

Its a lot to ask of people though if anyone has had a bad day and wants to rip something apart then choose me to vent that anger.

I think its fair to say I have gone back to being a |newbie|

Don't take this the wrong way, but close down & beta test it for a month or so, get the bugs worked out & then re-open when everything is in order.

I'll be honest - if you were not a contributing member of the board, I'd have forgotten about your program after the 1st problem.

You are right, its not wise to let my would be partners get a set of issues that are not needed. - Its just so hard at times to see the wood for the trees.

Do you have any articles on this type of thing GG

Once you do have the bugs worked out, promote yourself weekly or biweekly and consistently in the biz promotion forums of the boards you frequent.

Announce new content available for promotion, for instance.

This keeps your program in the minds of webmasters.

Also, write articles about your niche.

OK folks working on the bugs looks like they are soted, have been sending traffic and getting convertions, we have decided to get a new tour done too as converting on 1/512 is just not good enough for me or my partners.

To date our numbers are based on 8 active affiliates one of which is a review site -

review here - http://www.richards-realm.com/review...?reviewID=1575

Before you wonder I think the review is a true reflection :)

anyhow onwards and upwards who knows before long I will be able to put my sig back in palce ;)

I ain't pay-site expert, but I would do beta testing before affiliate program launch. So many things can go wrong at beginning.

From possible affiliate point..
I like your gallery templates and think your site have potential. That Hotmail email addy at webmasters page made me feel weird tho.

Yep, I agree with Bill. Boards are gold mines! Advertise, keep hanging around and 'carpe diem' when possible.

Best of luck with your site! :)

You only get one chance to fuck up in this biz..... use it wisely.

SmithsMedia 2005-09-07 06:53 AM

The issue with the hotmail addy is this - the that MSN ID has been with me snce I started, so its a bit like a phone number adn many people have it on Business cards etc.

Its a good point and something I will give some thought to and see what I can do about using a different ID or just offering ICQ as a contact means :-)

As already brought up, I probably would'nt sign up for a program that uses a hotmail address.

These are the two things that concern me when I'm signing up. How much do they shave and will my money be paid out on time.

Anything beyond that is gravy to me :)

beta testing is the way to go

Greenguy 2005-09-07 12:08 PM

Thanks for chiming in, Rocco. As usual, your mindless dribble & lemming like replies are always entertaining.
