How Long Does It Take For A Sponser to Approve?
 

What is the generally accepted appropriate time to wait for a sponser to approve an affiliate status. I waited a week for one sponser and finally ICQ'd him and he said that there was a screw up and he never got the request and set me up right then and there.

Then there's another sponsor which I would like to be an affiliate for and it has been about a week and they will not return my email requests for a status update.

Does this happen to others? Am I alone in this? Why would a sponser pass on someone who could possibly make them money?

Many sponsors have instant approval, others may take a few days. If you haven't heard back within a week, definitely e-mail them. If they don't respond take it as a hint.

But see, I don't understand this reasoning. If they think I'm only going to send them 3 sales a month, that's still 3 sales a month. And if I ever do get big and wildly popular, I'm going to remember the sponsers that wouldn't waste their time on me when I was just starting out.

You misunderstand me. ;) The hint would be that a sponsor who can't respond in a timely manner probably isn't worth your time.

Exactly. Might give some indication of their level of support. As mentioned most good sponsors have instant activation. I hate it when I have to wait to be approved.

Yes, most sponsors give immediate acceptance. A few make you wait while they check you out, then accept you. One (in my experience) makes you wait and then rejects you without a reason. I've no idea what the logic is in turning down someone who might make you money and who can't lose you money, but, there you go, it happens.

That's what happened in my case... apperently. It has been 3 weeks and they never got back to me even after I emailed and asked what the problem was. Guess they have too many link lists pushing their stuff or something. That's fine I've found other sponsers with niche's to fill those spots. :)

The others shoud have exellent in order to stay in biz

If I'm not approved within 4 workdays, I don't promote that sponsor unless he got a real specific site which I truly want to promote
