by 2007 every pupil in US will have a laptop
Nicholas Negroponte, chairman and founder of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology Media Labs, has been outlining designs for a sub-$100 PC.
Professor Negroponte predicts there could be 100 million to 150 million shipped every year by 2007. How are they going to filter the web to exclude pupil's access to adult sites? Will this mean that the rules for adult sites will be tighten? http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/technology/4292854.stm |
And, I read that by 2007 all TVs will be HDTV :)

It's a great idea but according to the article they're still designing the PC. When a country designs the infrastructure it's easy for them to install filtering. Countries like China, Singapore and Malaysia filter sites and the filters are not expensive.
