Why is mayorsmoney.com spamming me?

Don't they know it's not polite? Like I need more spam coming from someone acting like an old friend. |angry|

plateman 2005-10-06 08:25 PM

My thoughts as well. I won't be doing anything with them after this. I wonder if that was their aim?

HC-Majick 2005-10-06 09:15 PM

Add me to the list of the unhappily spammed. |pissed|

CrazySy 2005-10-06 09:48 PM

I had just joined them a few days ago and yet I got spammed on three different email accounts today. I am not going to promote them either just because I hate spammers |angry|

Jamdin 2005-10-06 10:21 PM

I loved the email since the cutie even had a fan sign with my email address. How cool is that?

Mayor's Money rocks |headbang|

porndragon 2005-10-06 10:39 PM

Mayors money is the best I haven recieved an email or 2 from them but nothing to complain about ;)

Kinky 2005-10-06 10:42 PM

they spammed me too.... they are now on my list of sponsors never to promote

plateman 2005-10-06 10:52 PM

I dont like spam no more than the next guy but one email isnt gonna make me throw them to the dogs yet.. IMO

Keyser Soze 2005-10-06 11:02 PM

I got 1 mail and I am signed up to their board, Mayorsmoney, stiffycash and a couple of other programs run by them.

They also have Porn DVD Dollars :D

I got it to (and I'm already signed up)

Not that big of a deal - we sent emails to everyone who's addy we had when we started the board :)

SirMoby 2005-10-07 12:42 AM

Interesting. 5 out of 11 people here put them on the shit list for that spam.

Buying email addresses to announce a new program is one thing. Trying to pretend like we're old friends though?

Halfdeck 2005-10-07 01:34 AM

Yeah I also got an email from them today. The first thing I thought was "don't they even bother to check their affiliate DB before they send this stuff out?"

I wasn't too offended though because they also sent me a little thumb drive in the mail which I thought was cute plus it didn't take long for me to start making money with them.

Bare 2005-10-07 06:21 AM

If you're gonna spam me - spam me. Don't make me question my sanity trying to figure out who you are.

Monsieur 2005-10-07 06:41 AM

Add me to the list of the spammed, too, but I don't think it's that bad, just wondered where they got my address from because if I recall correctly, I'm not signed up of any of their programs, but that might be false as I usually just sign up and then let my accounts sit until I like one of their sites :)

Ramster 2005-10-07 08:25 AM

I got the email too and thought the girl with my email address on the sign was cool....yet spooky too. Am I being stalked? |shocking|

Many programs do this and although I do Not like it I guess I can understand it.

Wizzo 2005-10-07 09:14 AM

Sending a email to a affiliate who has signed up for your program or BBS is hardly spam. Sorry to anyone who's day was completely ruined by this... |dizzy|

As for "acting like a old friend", not really a act, we consider almost all our affiliates friends and try to treat them that way. |waves|

Dr Bizzaro 2005-10-07 09:14 AM

They spend thousands of hours making peronalized fan signs to all their webmasters and you guys are complaining? Sheesh...

I'm with Greenie. I am already an affiliate of other programs. So I just consider that a creative way to market a new program to their current affiliates.

Wizzo 2005-10-07 09:15 AM

BTW.... Ramster, Brooke is stalking you... ;)

Jim 2005-10-07 09:33 AM

I often wonder...when spamming comes up, if you get a home depot spam in your regular mail at home, do you call them and complain?

Or this anology...you buy a new car. (You join an affiliate program), they write to you to tell you about other new cars year after year. (you get an email giving you something cool). Do you call the car company and complain? Or do you just throw it away.

Email lists are like addresses, worth a lot of money and bought by many people. Nothing wrong with it. I wouldn't sell our list but, I would be happy to rent it to send announcements.

SirMoby 2005-10-07 09:39 AM

I never viewed the image because I keep the images blocked. I don't think I signed up for any of your programs and it came to an email address that gets a lot of spam but isn't one of my main business accounts. It just looks like it came from a list of purchased emails.

All I was doing is making a point. It appears that many webmasters got the email through spam channels and not normal business channels.

My main reason for posting was just to see the responce from webmasters and Mayor. It's been a enlightening for me :)

Ramster, there are many hot babes stalking you.

I will be glad to tell which program you used it to signup with..

I would go there and burn them down |bananna|

Fonz 2005-10-07 09:53 AM

I feel left out :(
I do have an account with stiffycash since 2001 or so but never promoted them. Maybe that's why you guys are ignoring me. :)

Thumbler 2005-10-07 09:56 AM

I got it but it didn't really bother me, the thing that surprised me was that they didn't dedupe their list and remove exisiting webmasters from it. Inviting me to join a program I'm already promoting seems a bit pointless.
