Movie Linkslist Interest?

I am toying with the idea of starting another linklist that will only list sites with video content. I'm talking sites, no galleries.

What do you submitters / LL owners think? Would you submit stuff?

Jay, I guess the only issue is that it would be mostly sponsor content. You might want to build the site, but just populate it yourself with free sites with sponsor content that you build.

I'm not sure how many submissions you'd get. We all know movies are the or one of the more popular categories so it could be a good choice but getting good submissions would be my concern.

what about a hybrid

index, warning, and 2 movie galleries.. each with 3 videos. 30seconds each

thatwould make those sites reusable for mgp

I think people, having more and more fast connections, will tire of pictures - having a movies LL might put me right on the crest of the wave.

There seems to be a growing number of movie sites. You might have missed the wave already. ;-p

Actually, I'm surprised there aren't more. Is it largely due to the bandwidth costs involved?

The other thought that occurred is the possible risk factor. Since the content is 100% more graphic in nature, an overzealous district attorney might find more grounds to bring obcenity charges against the movie webmaster rather than purveyors of picture galleries.

I've thought in the past that movie sites were indeed the next wave, but after seeing sites like , it dawned on me that if these were American operations they could easily become future targets of brown shirt henchmen like SS Chief Von Ashcroft.

Ok, hopefully such things would never happen, but it's something to consider. Am I being overly cautious here?

BTW, your articles at CJ always cracks me up, Jay.

There are a lot of movies TGPs - not a real movie links site yet. That what I am considering building.

I couldn't see why Ashcroft would get any more pissed off over pics than he would movies.

You're probably right, Jay. I would definitely trust your experience. My thinking was simply that types like Ashcroft/Bush will hit the easy marks first, and if they eventually get around to free sites, the movie galleries will be easier prey than pictures.

I also suspect the free tours provided by pay-sites could be an easy mark. Some of those are very graphic.

Of course, these are all big "ifs" and I'm hoping that by next November we have a new administration in office that respects hallowed apple-pie-Amerian-values like civil liberties and freedom of speech.

Actually Jay, with movies they can charge you with obscenity frame by frame, if they want to. This was discussed after the extreme associates arrests. And it's typical government practice to pile on as many charges as they can, to terrify their victims into submission and "send a message".

I'd be more concerned with acacia than the doj. They are a more likley source of harrassment.

Other than that I don't see any reason not to start it up. fill out the empty cats with hosted movie gallerys, and cultivate a group of movie site builders.

Yeah - i'll probably get that going next week - fuck the man!
