Been up since early for some odd reason. Probably going to have a couple of friends coming over later that don't live in homes that are safe to be in when this thing hits. One has two small boys and the other has five small dogs.

Other then that just a day of work, a bit of last minute grocery shopping, and watching movies.

Espresso, rice, and soy products now being served.

I think today will be put the shutters up day.
(Unless they change the prediction time or path, again, that is.)

My neighbor across the canal has the shutters that are permanently attached and accordion fold into little boxes next to the window when not needed. They're not push button like Cleo's neighbor, but they do close from inside the house, so he can close all the upstairs shutters without a ladder. We have a walkaround upstairs here, but I was still a little jealous of his ability to close all of his from inside. Then this morning I was watching him try to get one upstairs shutter to slide closed. It stuck part way and wouldn't budge. Then he finally got it unstuck... and it came loose from its track and crashed two stories to the ground where it disassembled itself.

He's been working on getting that one shutter put back together and reinstalled, via a ladder, for a couple of hours now.

No longer jealous.

This storm has taken so long to get here that I need to go grocery shopping again. Going to the store and then if I don't see lines at the gas station going to top off my tank. I just keep on remember them telling us that Katrina was going to be a minimal storm and then it hitting us really hard at almost Cat 2 so I'm not taking any chances this time.

Watch it just sit out there tormenting us for a few more days.

My step-daughter had her Homecoming Dance last night & I have to admit, she's smarter than I thought. She plays Field Hockey & they all had to sign a waiver for a no drugs or alcohol thing at the beginning of the year. Most of the team decided to have a couple of cocktail before the dance & the school gave them each a breathalyzer when one of the teachers smelled booze on one of the girls. Sam did the smart thing & planed to wait til after the dance, so she blew a 0.0 - but most of the starting Field Hockey team will be sitting the bench when their playoffs start on Wednesday :(

Today we have a big fucking birthday party - there's 5 members of the family that have BD's in October, so it's party time :)

Happy football day!! The Bucs have a bye this week... |angry| Just said goodbye to my company which is always hard to do. So after last night having a little too much fun, and the Bucs not playing hubby and I will have a nice nap!!
