Link Exchange Script ok for SE?

I do hard link exchanges on indivdual pages-categories, if you will- and it's getting to be a pain to do them by hand as the pages increase. :) I never wanted to put my links in a script, as I like offering hard links, but now I'm thinking about it. My question is, if I use a script that displays the links as Link, does it have the same value as if I did it by hand? I don't want to lessen the SEO value to the people I link to.
One that I'm looking at is Link Daemon.
Any input would be great, thanks.

Hey, I have been using a custom made script for hard link trades for over half an year and all can say is that, in 99% you won't be punished or ranked lower than someone who doesn't use one...

btw. I haven't used Link Daemon so don't know how it works :)

Yes, its what the SE see that counts... It doesnt care about what is going on on the server...
