Happy Football Sunday
Football, my big plan for today. And of course our moochers (kids) will probably be here to eat. I hear we have a big wind coming our way so, it does seem like a good day to do nothing.

Another up way too early morning here. I've been sleeping with the windows and sliding glass doors open so I can't close the blinds and the morning sun wakes me up at sunrise. I can't wait to have power again and to be able to sleep in the morning.
Going to call the gym to see if they have reopened yet and go if they have. Went to a club last night. First time out since the storm. What a mess everything is and with most of the traffic lights missing driving sucks. It was nice to get out through as life slowly returns to normal. This old 21" CRT monitor that I'm using seems to be dying so I guess it is time to break down and buy a LCD. Been shopping around and it seems that the Apple 23" is not over priced like I thought it was. It is the biggest LCD that my laptop will drive so I may buy the 23" wide screen at $1299 very soon. Espresso, eggs, soy sausage and another five gallons of fuel is now being served. |

We had some tornadoes hit in souther IN this morning tracking across Ohio and headed for Buffalo. Stay safe everyone. |
Football is a real theme ;)

Good Morning. Football it is.
Cleo I just got rid of my CRT not too long ago. Only went with a 17" LCD but it took a bit of time to get use to the brightness difference. ;) |

Did you have your old display calibrated? Have you calibrated your new one? I ask because there really shouldn't be a brightness difference.
I've been using my neighbor's 30" Apple monitor and it is so much better then anything I've ever used. I went to apple's special page and I see that they have a refurb 23" for $1,099. with full warranty which makes it cheaper then anything else that I've found. Probably going to decide what to do later today. Called the gym and they have reopened so going to go workout for the first time since the storm but it is going to suck having my right hand in a splint. |
Good Morning All :)

Morning! Football is the plan here also. Besides checking out our daughters new boyfriend. Maybe this will be the one to sweep her off her feet |bow|
Enjoy your Sunday all! |

I knew the old CRT had shitty brightness (compared to my laptop) and I tried to adjust it but it never seemed to do much good.
The new LCD I had to adjust. It was set way too high in brightness at first. One of these days I'll take a peek at the manual to be sure I have everything else set right. LOL |
Good Morning! :D

Bought the 23" one. Figured that I better get something before this CRT dies and it is doing this funky thing once in awhile where the color starts changing and I have to slap the side of it.
Strange how my monitor died and now this one is dying while on generator. It's plugged into a APC 1000 UPS so I don't think it had anything to do with being on generator power but hmmm… Refurbished Apple Cinema HD Display (23-inch flat panel w/ aluminum enclosure) Part Number: F9178LL/A Estimated ship: Within 24 hours Delivered next business day after shipping 1 $1,099.00 Shipping Charge: $34.00 Estimated Tax*: $67.98 Estimated Total: $1,200.98 Should be here on Tuesday I'm guessing. I'm sure that my eyes will be celebrating. Can't wait to do some video editing on it. I played with the ones at CompUSA yesterday (they are charging 1499 plus tax for them) and at 1920 x 1200 pixels (optimum resolution) text is real easy to read. So I'll have 1920 x 1200 plus 1152 x 720 (laptop's 17" screen) of screen space. :) |
Good mornin all!
Got to get some link trades up...then some lunch. After that, Buddy has been pestering me about a motorcycle ride...so that's on the agenda. And probably some football afterwards |thumb Cleo, I went to a 19 inch LCD about 2 years ago. Took a bit of getting used to and adjusting the settings...but now I have a hard time looking at a CRT for any prolonged periods. Have a great day all! |
I see that it is VESA Mount compatible. I would love to mount it on one of these arms. http://www.ergoindemand.com/lcd_moni...ticulating.htm

Morning.. getting ready to go sell wax and flavoring.. hope everyone has a good day!! |thumb oh yeah 42 in Vegas this morning..we'll probably have 10" of snow by January |
Well - finally got running around, chores and payroll done so now its time for some football, the great Nascar race in Texas - the Dickies 500 (never could figure out why they called them that - I guess easier access to the Dickie) and way too much food which will make me have to work out twice as hard this coming week

I am home and feeling like crap, it think a cold is coming on... not a good feeling. We got warnings up here for wind, thunderstorms, etc... the end of whatever did Ohio and Indiana earlier. With some hope, things won't be as bad here.
I moved to a 20inch LCD a while back, and it has been a truely enjoyable deal. The quality is nice, sharp, pleasant... but the colors and blacklevels are never the same as a CRT, and that takes some getting use to. I installed the right gamma correction for photoshop, and that helped. But I am still not convinced that the colors and such are exactly right. Oh well! Good buy Cleo, I am sure you will enjoy it. Your eyes will be much happier. Alex |
