Favicons & 404'2
I've got a 404 trap and this last month I've been noticing the server numbers going up on it, so I'm looking at the raw server logs and someone is continually coming in with
http://www.sexdug.com/favicon.ico I know what a favicon is and I don't use one, though I should get around to it. But why would anybody be doing this? No referral url either. Anyone have any idea what's up? |dizzy| |
Many browsers that hit a link will load the favicon.ico file to appear in the URL bar. Additionally, some browsers (namely firefox) will store that next to the site title when you bookmark it.
If you are doing a general 404 redirect, then, you might want to put even a generic favicon.ico file there. |

Yeeeaa ha! Thanks Halfdeck! I was hoping someone might come up with a link like this. I hate doing graphics and I just finished a six hour marathon on a logo for a trademark thing for a friend of mine. I hate doing graphics. Alright... Yeeeaa ha!

Couldn't have been easier or quicker (60 seconds). Anyone who doesn't have a favicon should use the above link imediately. Graphic designers will charge you $25 to $100 bucks for this. Thanks again!
