The Hun of link lists?
 

Hey there,

I'm just wondering if there's a "Hun" of link lists? Is that Green Guy's site? Persian Kitty? Free sites and link lists are new territory to me, so I'm trying to get a lay of the land. Thanks!

No link site will send the kind of traffic thehun or other top TGPs will send. The "kind" being a good thing sometimes as link list traffic is considered to be better quality with a lot more search engine traffic mixed in. My free sites see 10% of the traffic my galleries see but free site listings last for 6 months to a year or more.

Link-O-Rama, Tommys, Persian Kitty and Richard's Realm are considered to be the bigger ones. And many of the others that frequent this site are all major link list owners so I'd recommend submitting to them all too.

I get way more SE traffic to my free sites then my galleries. Link lists are a good way to pick up SE traffic.

Yeah, I didn't think any of the link lists would get the same amount of traffic that The Hun gets, I just mean what is considered the biggest link list site out there. I'm familiar with the ones you listed, so I guess I'm off to a good start, thanks!

The highest traffic sender for me (per site listed) is persian kitty, however they only allow two of your sites to be listed at once.

Tommy's, Richards, and Greenguy's are all great sources as previously mentioned.

My third biggest linklist traffic sender is secretcorner.com and I don't even submit to them :) not sure of the traffic quality, but definately worth a look.

Tommys is clearly the biggest in terms of the flood of traffic sent.

The others kinda catch up. It's been a while since I did a measurement of how much traffic is sent over time. Be interesting if someone did some counting experiments.

In terms of the overall count and steadiness of the flow, Greenguy is the clear winner. By that I mean Greeny is the most reliable place to get listed, so if you are subbing regularly he'll probably be at the top of your referrers averaged out over, say, a quarter year. (If you are one of the people getting listed almost every day at Tommys, thats not true for you, but how many people is that really, and thats useless info for a newcomer anyway.)

Gotta love Richards, he'll be sending good traffic long after everyone else is history.

I think you can still only have two sites at a time listed at PK, which puts her in a special category, can't really compare PK with the others.

..also you will find things vary greatly dependent on niche, when submitted, name of site etc etc.:D

I have a Q about tommys bookmarks...

1. How long does it take to get a free site listed with him?

2. All my free sites have 3 sponsor links per page because almost every link list accepts 3. Will tommy decline my sites for that?



ps. DD's LL gives me loads of traffic to :)

DD has great converting traffic.. and longevity. I'm still getting great hits:conversions from months ago...

and not always is Bigger better *looking lovingly at spike*..some of the Mid-size LL convert pretty well too.

I'd say use the ones mentioned here, look at the traffic list on the menu, and pick a few more, maybe niche specific. and wait.

Tommy's rules are technically 2 links per page but I've seen him allow 3 if they are not huge ads. The other issue with Tommy is he gets TGP submissions and sees about 1500 a day from what I understand so getting listed is not guaranteed even if you are folowing the rules. It's a numbers game with him. When you do get listed then you'll be happy as he sends lots of hits.
