Someone is spamming "from" my domain.
 

Hiya,

This afternoon I found out that there is a person spamming email accounts with my domain
in the from field. So I get all the 'Mail delivery failure' emails in my inbox. And my domain
gets a 'bad' name. Whats pretty bad because i use it for everything. ( online buying, submitting )
What can i do about this?

We have had it done everyday for almost 2 years at GreenguyandJim. I have been told there is nothing you can do about it but...other than a bunch of returned emails, there have been no other adverse effects.

The spammers have discovered one of my domains (which I will not name here) and every hour I have dozens of emails from postmasters around the world kicking it back to me since it's my domain. |ihatespam |pissleft| |monkey

Ya, seems it happens to just about every one at one time or another. I remember a time I got thousands or return mails, cant imagine how many they mailed. Of course a couple angry people e-mailing me.

It happened to me too.. One time I got a load of emails every 15 minutes for about a day. I looked at the returned emails and the ref link on it all went to a adult cartoon site that asked visitors to join using Paypal. I think I wrote an "I'm going to fuck you if..." email to the hosting company.

You made sure to inform Paypal right? :D

I knew I forgot something :D Just I dug up the old emails and found the guy's domain: toonedup dot net, thinking maybe I can get the guy's paypal addy. The domain is gone |shrug

Oh darn... thats too bad.. hehe

Well if theres nothing i can do about it, i will let it slide :).. I only hope it isnt gonna happend to often!

That toonedup guy got a bunch of us, I had those too Halfdeck, around a couple of thousand returned mails over a day or so. Asshole...........
