Question For Submitters
If you were a partner at a LL and you HAD TO log in before getting to the submit page, BUT once you were there you got to see the number of sites you had listed as well as a list of pending sites that hadn't been reviewed yet, how would you feel about that?
|
I think This Depraived World has it like that and I like it. Also shows how many clicks total they have sent which is nice. Even better would be to see how many clicks were sent to each specific freesite.
|
Yep, I've seen a couple scripts that have that capability now...very cool |thumb
|
Yeah, but I gotta thank Mishi and her script for that feature. ;)
Her script allows you to turn off that reporting of clicks until you get a steady flow of traffic, but I like showing people honest clicks. The only problem I've seen with a LL script that requires a login is I think it tends to draw submitters more slowly then one without. On the other hand I don't seem to have the abundance of cheaters a lot of LL owners complain about. |
Personally, thats what I find most useful at Preacher's LL is when I login, it lists which sites were accepted and which ones were declined.. it sure beats having to go through the LL's pages and see if you can figure out if the site you made (anywhere from a few hours ago to a few weeks ago depending on the LL) got approved or no... some LL's send out emails with the same information but since all LL's take different amounts of time to review, it gets hard to track which LL blessed which site and which one didnt since none of the emails actually come together... the number of clicks sent to the site is good, but its not what I focus on... but then again maybe this is just me being a newbie...

Thanks for the input so far. :) There are a few different ways I can go about this so I'm pondering them and looking for feedback. Partners logging in to submit would not necessarily equal everyone having to log in...it could be scripted so that raw public submits could be accepted, and only the partners would log in. Essentially, if I handle the entire submit script differently for partners than public submits I can do some additional cool stuff. :)
I'm not sure if I'm going to include click tracking in the initial release...depends on timeline and how much time some of the other features take to develop...but it's definitely on the plate for the future. |
I think that is a great idea, and a neat feature.
I already have to log in at many sites to submit anyways and the added bonus of seeing my sites status would be a bonus. A few TGP's already have smilar features |
I like it!

This is probably a radical idea (and one that will possibly make LL owners frown on me, and make Max mad at me cause Im hijacking his thread :)) is having a tool like unified stats or something for submissions, which tracks in one place when sites get listed by LL's... not an autosubmitter but sort of like an auto listing checker of some sort...
Take MrYum for instance.. his submit confirm page says he will send me an email if the site gets approved, but I dont actually get an email.. LOR does not send emails either although GG/MML have been very kind to me and have been listing a lot of my stuff... Penisbot/wetplace reviewed and accepted a site I submitted a week ago today but two sites I submitted two weeks ago are still waiting for review... UW used to send emails for FilthyEarls but have not seen an email from him in a while (maybe he banned me :))... What I normally do is once a week or something go to each of the LL's niche pages that I submitted to and look through the page source for my domain names... quicker that way than going through the whole thing looking for site titles or descriptions... Back to the LL question though... what I definately do not like is the confirm emails that ask for submit confirmations... not a big deal to actually confirm your submission (specially for me since I only do about two free sites a week) but I am sure for people who submit a lot more than that, having to confirm every submission gets irritating... that said, I am sure there is a good reason for having that... |
Sounds like a cool idea.
PS. I found your SEO page to be very helpful for a "Noob" like me. |thumb |

yeah it would be a nice extra to see those stats when ya submit a new one :)
|
I don't mind logging in to be able to submit, especially if I get to see my sites status.
|
Excellent, seems like we've got a resounding "that would be cool" here |thumb
|
Yeah that would be great.
I like how penisbot sends an email telling how many sites you have listed and avg tier value. Very cool. |
I wouldn't mind logging in. There are some sites that demand this so you wouldn't be the only one. You have a good site so I think you don't have to be worried about losing submitters.
Anyway, even now, submitting system at your LL is fine because everyone gets an email if his/her site has been accepted or not. If it has been rejected submitter goes to the "The Official 'Why Didn't My Site Get Accepted to FetishPhiles.com' Thread " and you answer the questions within few hours. Bottom line is: if you have time to develop the new system - that would be cool. If not, everything stll works fine :) |
Yeah sounds fine to me. A few sites I submit to use a similar script already. A minor pain having to submit over a number of pages but as long as your site is quick its all good and seeing the stats on your submits is handy.
