How do I move my submit page around
 

Hi all

I'm about to reveal the vastness of my technical illiteracy here, so please forgive me for being a code nancy.

My linklist is Gossamer Threads 2. I got a friend to install it for me. It runs perfectly, but unfortunately the site's been found by a number of autosubmitters and I'm sick of deleting their submissions ("Cumbucket anal whores" sites don't quite make the Ms Naughty grade LOL).

I've seen how other people move their submit pages around to avoid autosubmitters, but I don't know how to do it.

Is there a simple way to make this happen? I get the feeling the answer will be "no" but I just thought I'd ask.

I'd get them to add a "submit code" to your sub page and be done with it...

You can move it if you feel that you really must... but I'm not going to advise that course of action...

I don't know your script, but if I was to move my submission page, I would create a new directory, place my submit page in it, then edit the page to change path to my config file. Your script may be different. Wazza's suggestion is best.

Now I'm wondering if adding a submit code is difficult...

I really need to sit down for a couple of days and just learn some basic scripting. But it's always easier if you have someone physically looking over your shoulder...

Theres at least one Link List out there that ask that you add a code word to the description, that alone should cut down on the problems. Decline the ones that didn't add the word/phrase to the descr. mho

You can change the location of your submit page, I've done it for RedCherry for the same problem. I wrote out step by step instructions here:

I also have a mod where you can blacklist by URL, which works nicely, but I don't know if I can find the instructions again, if I do, I'll post up a link or instructions for that. It is a bit more complicated to do that, but once done, easy to maintain.
