Promoting only 1 site on a Free site
 

What exactly are the pro's and cons of promoting only 1 site on a free site instead of promoting 3-4 sites?

If you were trying to sell a comsumer on buying Soda Pop, would you tell them that Pepsi, Coke & RC Cola were all very good, or that one of them (Pepsi) was the best cola you'd ever tasted?

I'm thinking a better analogy would be if you owned a grocery store, would you only sell Coca Cola or would you also sell Pepsi, RC Cola, etc.

If you only promote 1 sponsor on your free site and some of your surfers have been to that sponsor and aren't interested, you're not gonna make a cent. However, if you offer them numerous choices you have a better chance of them choosing one. That's just comparing sponsors, and we all know that some sponsors close better than others. When you get into niches, you're really offering your surfer some choices.

The problem is your little free site is a commercial, where a link list or search engine would be the grocery store :)

I tend to do one site per page. I guess I look at each page as a shelve or maybe an isle in the grocery store.

I almost never do more then one sponsor per page, but often offer then a few different sponsors all in the same nice per site. My thinking is if they didn't go for it on the first gallery then why show it to them again on the second gallery.

So four pages a maximum of four offerings.

You don't want to give someone too many choices or then they end up not buying anything because they can't decide.

would this idea work:

promote something full at the beginning or within easy surfing..

then u offer him trials.. coz he's a cheapo..

then as a last resort, an email program?

chowda - a lot of people put up a link on the bottom of their last gallery page that leads to a top list or email program or a link list of their own or something like that so that the traffic is at least sent tosomething that can be beneficial to the webmaster that made the site :)
