It seems I’m a grand father

I’m not joking. Yes, I know Nataliya and I just had our first baby girl less then 2 years ago but …..

When I was in high school I managed to impregnate my girlfriend. While many people may have opted for an abortion we opted for adoption and gave her up when I was just 18. Annie, my adopted daughter found me and we just starting chatting this week. It seems she has a 5 year old daughter herself and that makes me a grand father.

Congrats to you and your new found family!! That is so good. A very brave thing to do both for you and your 'baby mother' to choose adoption and for your daughter to have the courage to face rejection and look you up.

As an adoptee, I know i had mixed feelings about looking for my birth parents and even tho my chances of finding them now that i'm old..are slim i'm thinking that 2006 might just be the year i start.

really I had little to do with the bravery here. Annie and her birth mother are the real heros here. I just get to enjoy it :)

I always feel old but now I get to tease Nataliya about being a grand mother at 30 :)

My girlfriend gave her daughter up for adoption many years ago due to her life circumstances at the time. Several years ago, the adopted parents and the little girl sought her out and now she's involved in the childs life...a very cool thing :)

I hope I don't become a grandfather anytime soon. I'd be happy if my kid, who I also had early, held off on the whole reproduction thing.

I'd be a lousy grandfather - I don't like to travel much, I don't visit my family much, even tho I love them all. I'd have to be the cool, distant grandfather who buys great Amazon presents.

Wow. I mean, WOW. That's fucking huge. That pulls on the ol' heart strings, Moby. I'm with Holly. That's a damned brave move, having the courgage and good sense to adopt away a baby like that when you and your girlfriend were kids yourselves. And it says a lot about the person your daughter is today, that she is mature enough to find you and begin creating the relationship you all missed out on. It's sweet. I'm floored, dude. And I don't use 'dude' lightly.
