shady business or creative??

Has anyone noticed that in the recent week or so there seems to be one person who has taken over the first few pages of yahoo searchs and even google with their own sites? It's kind of interesting to see this because you start to wonder if this is just shady business or outright creativity on whoever this webmaster is....eg: go to yahoo and type in keyword search "hardcore gay sex" and for the majority of the links showing up are all funky URL's but they redirect to single page sites with a common theme template. Whoever this person is has done this with a multitude of keywords and redirect (or shadow URLs). URLs seem to be including "dynu" in their addresses, but many often seem to come from bulletin board posts (which redirect). Notice the keyword too...its for gay..but some of this person's page sites has straight porn on them too.

I spent 2 hours and found that whoever this is has taken many of the first 3 or 4 pages of both search engines. So when it comes to business, you think this person needs congradulations or a swift kick in the butt (not to mention for yahoo and google not picking up on this)?

Anyone come across this ?

Someone has just done a great spamming job

Xeno 2005-12-25 07:47 PM

I know....I bet those who have paid for seo work and see this, they will be very pissed. Why yahoo and google have not picked up on this I have no idea. No sense in reporting it because by the time they get around to it it'll be burried in a sea of emails or just plain tossed out.

I remember a couple years ago there was one german porn domain that literally spammed up to 20 pages in Yahoo and Google with "every" single listing was theirs. I think it took a couple months for the SE's to take notice.

I`ve seen alot of that crap. I hate it..especially when they wipe out one of my good listings! Page after page of results for keyphrases and I`ve seen some remain that way for a long time actually. It always either surprised me that the se`s don`t catch on faster or make me suspicious that it may be another one of thier money making schemes that flies under our radar so to speak.

You sure your browser isn't infected with some adware that causes you to see this guys listings?

RawAlex 2005-12-25 11:50 PM

This guy has certainly done a good job of screwing over the bots. Thankfully google has a nice little "not satisfied with the results" and you can click there, include the URLs of the listings that suck, and tell them that they suck.

The stuff usually goes away pretty quick if you report it like a surfer.

Nope....I'm clean as a whistle :)

This guy has some pretty funky coding going on too in his pages. I'm just amzed how he managed to make this happen. There should be a direct method to report these kind of things to google and yahoo and have them respond in a fast way. But doesn't seem to exist. Right now it would probably take months before they even look at it.

Question is....how long will it be before they do find out and take action....perhaps reporting it to the sponsors he promotes that hes spamming...

Elias 2005-12-26 09:00 AM

If he's done it onse - he'll do it again and by the time Google and yahoo close the holes he's using he'll be a rich man.

Do a little reading of some past topics on SE spamming in the Search Engines Forum. This has been discussed at some length.

I'm sure his sponsors would hate the idea of getting tons of Yahoo and Google traffic. I think when they say no spamming they mean something different then SE spamming.

I'm not seeing those results here on Google or Yahoo.

I hadn't bothered to check but sine you posted I did and I'm not seeing any thing strange with recommended search term.

You may not be clean as a whistle.

Yeah, it was Gg's post that made me take a look since it seems that he's not seeing those results either. If it was only one search engine I would have assumed that we were seeing results from a different cache on the SE's servers, but since he's seeing them on both G and Y, it makes me think it's not us. It's not often (or ever) that I find myself searching for hardcore gay sex.

Generally about a business week, if they are violating the spam policies. Just fill out a report.

I have noticed another weird type of listing that I haven't had time to investigate yet. Was gonna past it on later to Bill to see if it was spamming or some kind of blog stuff. Anybody else starting to notice a lot of listings that sorta look like:
www.thatdomain.com/.........../node/257/....
www.thatdomain.com/.........../node/112/....

You did know that it was just a matter of time. :)

Jel 2005-12-28 12:59 AM

I see the listings you refer to on yahoo but not google, same fucker who knocked me down to 7th on yahoo for a nice term I usually hold top slot in.

ronnie 2005-12-28 10:35 AM

The "dynu" looks very firmilar, I'm pretty it is a blog spammer.
