POPUP on sponsor links: Ok or not?
 

I've been a TGP gallery submitter for a long while now and just recently I started submitting free sites to LinkLists.

My question is simply: everytime I create a freesite I use the console free option for the links on my freesite, but I noticed that most LL don't say on their rules that you can't have popups ON THE SPONSOR.

So I'd like to know, is it ok to use the tour with console on the sponsors or not?

No consoles allowed on mine.

No consoles on the freesite itself or on the sponsor link?

I noticed some LL even allow you to have 1 popup on the freesite itself!

I don't care about pop-ups on paysite tours, but if I get a pop on a free site I'd ban the submitter, his siblings, his father, and I'd squeeze his mother tits.|boobies|

Most LL's don't allow popups on the freesite itself. On the sponsor link most of them have no problems with popups but some do. You should try to keep the site you're promoting as clean as possible IMO.

I've just finished submitting my freesite for today, tomorrow when I start submitting again I'll post here which sites allow 1 popup on the freesite.

I don't mind popups on the sponsor links as long as I can click back to the site in one click. If the sponsor link throws up a huge chain of links that resize and kill all my open browsers that isn't going help me keep my bookmarkers so it will not be listed.

According to you sig you are going to get banned for autosubmitting.

I was thinking of using the sponsor links with popups to increase my revenue.

I just clicked on the top banner and that link is fine :)

No popups on the free site for me. But it is ok for them to be on the sponors sites.

I would think that it would be safe to submit with popups on the sponsors sites if the rules of the linklist do not say otherwise.

Serious, I don't think you should have much problems getting this site listed at most places, or it must be I missed some things (like the sponsor content or so) :)

I don't mind popups on the sponsor tour as long as they aren't on the entrance page (that makes it look like an exit popup from my site) and as long as they aren't obnoxious.

Personally, I get better conversions when I use the no console option on my submissions. I think far more surfers stick around to browse the full tour.

For the most part I don't even click-trough to the sponsors so I allow consoles on the tour...I got an education corner on my site that teaches surfers how not to get pop-ups and all paysite links out are pop-up free ;)

edit: Oh yeah and I would gladly take your free sites too tranza ^_^

The only thing I tend to object to is back button mousetrapping. I can close a console (or block it) but I am not very tolerant of a sponsor that won't let me leave.

Surf your sponsor links... if it annoys you, it will annoy your surfer.

Is it only me or does your site have a slight side scroll at 800 wide? Other than that little side scroll, your site is very clean and the kind I'd like to see more often when I do site reviews :)

I don't follow all the sponsor links everyday. But I know most of the tours out there. I don't mind a console, but if it's overboard, I'll decline it.

The biggest ll have more friendly rules.
I suggest to you the following:

1. Visit these BIG ll: PenisBot, Hoes, GreenGuy, Richard-Realms, study their rules, and will make your sites accord to it.

2. Check the rules of other ll. If these ll have rules that have hot those BIG ll, like "not popup in the sponsor page", do not submit to it.

3. Test the little ll submitting only 2 o 3 sites to each one in different niches. If these ll will not send to each site more than 15 or 20 hits between the first and second day, take away it from your recip table, and put other.

That free site would probably get you banned as the exit link is redirecting - not sure if you knew about that :(

If you dropped warningpages.com as the exit I'd be happy to list it. Do a board search for "warningpages.com" and you'll come up with a recent thread on the subject. :)

Basic consoles on tours are fine with me. Like others have said, if the tour doesn't steal the back button and the consoles aren't overly agressive I'm fine, but some sponsors go way overboard with their consoles and those will get you declined the first few times and blacklisted eventually at a lot of LLs

I will never list a free site with any sort of popups at all on the free site itself.

Apparently the owner of warningpages was not aware that trap had been implemented until being informed by Emerald, after which he promptly had the issue corrected. I've checked several sites in since then and the back button now works as it should |thumb

I never got 1 reject because of the exit link and I AM being listed a LOT!
